A Wisconsin woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to enlist the help of a military man to teach her how to shoot the father of her child, whom she deemed as “pathetic.”
“I am going to f***ing kill you, you piece of s***,” Angela Volm wrote in text messages to the father of her child, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WSAW.
Volm, 45, allegedly had ill will towards the dad, so she asked a man she knew with military experience to teach her how to shoot the victim in order to get him out of the picture.
The dad then learned about Volm’s plan and contacted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and he accused her of plotting to murder him. He said that he heard from an acquaintance that Volm had allegedly tried to hire someone to kill him, according to the complaint.
Volm allegedly asked a man with military experience if he would help her in exchange for a sexual experience, according to the complaint. It is not currently clear how the two know each other.
He allegedly told investigators that Volm inquired about his military service, as well as asked if he owned a gun.
The military man also told authorities that Volm asked him to teach her how to shoot a gun so that she could make the father “disappear.” She allegedly told the military man that she would either hire someone to kill the father of her child or she would “end up in prison trying” to commit the killing herself, per the complaint.
Volm also reportedly claimed that the dad treated her badly, though specific examples of the alleged treatment were not included in the complaint. It’s also not known what their coparenting relationship looks like or how long they have known each other.
After Volm asked the military man for help, he said he refused and told her she needed professional help.
Once authorities became aware of the allegations, Volm was arrested and taken into custody at Lincoln County Circuit Court. She has been charged with solicitation to commit first-degree intentional homicide and is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday, June 29.
She is currently being held in custody on a $100,000 cash bond.
Volm has been assigned a public defender to represent her in the case, and it’s not currently clear if she has entered a plea.
The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
