It’s time for a change! America’s Got Talent will have a new host and two new judges when the show returns for season 14 in the fall. Tyra Banks, Mel B. and Heidi Klum have all exited the show, NBC revealed on Monday, February 11.
Terry Crews, who hosted America’s Got Talent: The Champions this winter, will step in as the new full-time host, while former Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough and actress Gabrielle Union will take the two open chairs at the judges’ table. Howie Mandel, who joined in season 5, and series creator Simon Cowell will return.
In December, Us Weekly revealed that Banks, 45, decided to say goodbye to the series on a high note after hosting for two seasons. “Tyra’s leaving on her own volition and because she wants to produce and act more,” a source said at the time. “She likes to produce and create.”
Earlier this month, she also announced she was creating a Modelland theme park in Santa Monica, which will be 21,000 square feet and filled with entertainment, curated retail and sharable content that allows visitors to “be the dream version of themselves.”
“It’s my calling to bring modeling to the masses,” she told WWD. “I created Top Model to expand the definition of beauty based on my own pain of being told ‘no’ that I couldn’t do something because I’m curvy or I’m black. My empathy for women in general increased through the experience. And now with Modelland, I’m taking it 10 steps forward, giving people the opportunity to engage with the elusive world by opening it up to everyone. Men, women, families, all generations can come and enter this model world for a day, have a fun shopping experience, and an eventful meal. This will be the first of many.”
An America’s Got Talent season 14 premiere date has yet to be announced.
