Moving on! Tyra Banks is leaving her role as the host of America’s Got Talent in 2019, Us Weekly can confirm.
“Tyra’s leaving on her own volition and because she wants to produce and act more,” the source tells Us. “She likes to produce and create.”
“This #Tylight from 2018 is when I met the super sexy BTS boyzzzzz,” she captioned a photo of herself with the South Korean boy band. “We made friends at the @bbma’s, did some boomerangs, I did some fierce hair flips as I jammed out to their song #Idol, and then we got them to perform on @agt! Kpop ain’t goin’ nowhere! It’s here, baby!! #BTSarmy”
The supermodel hinted at her departure to Access Hollywood in November.
When asked if she would be coming back to the show for its summer run, the Life Size star gave pause. “I don’t know,” she said. “I think I had a really nice run with AGT. I had a lot, a lot of fun. I’m really focusing on Life Size, I’m really focusing on a lot of … I’m gonna be producing TV and I have a massive project starting next year. I’m not so sure.”
She concluded by saying, “If I don’t come back, I had a lot of fun. A lot.”
In addition to her hosting duties, the supermodel returned as a judge on ANTM in March after a two-year hiatus, starred in the holiday movie Life Size 2 and is the mom of nearly 3-year-old son York.
Banks also teased more on her “massive project” to Access. “It is so massive it’s really making me really look at everything I’m doing and saying, ‘What can I kill off? What can I not do? What can I truly focus on?'” she said. “It’s coming in the fall of next year … it’s something that has never been done before.”
