Ryan Murphy revealed American Horror Story: Hotel character names at AHS's 2015 Comic-Con panel.

Everybody’s evil! Ryan Murphy was a surprise guest at the American Horror Story: Freak Show and Scream Queens joint panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, and the AHS mastermind revealed several new details about the upcoming top-secret season of his FX horror anthology series.

Murphy is notoriously tight-lipped about AHS, but the creator managed to slip several teases into his discussion about Freak Show and his new Fox comedy, Scream Queens. Read on to find out AHS: Hotel character names, details on Lady Gaga’s role, and more!

Good vs. Evil

First things first: The darkest, spookiest AHS season yet will feature many of your favorite AHS players going bad. Everyone present on the panel — which included AHS favorites Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, and newbie Matt Bomer — will be “bad boys and girls,” according to Murphy.

Lady Gaga’s Role

The singer landed her role on AHS by request — she wrote and told Murphy that she was a huge fan, and that she wanted to play an evil character on the show. The creator obliged, and wrote a role especially for her. Other details about Gaga’s small-screen debut: Her character will be highly involved in fashion, and unfortunately, despite all the music on Freak Show, she won’t be singing.

Crossovers

Freak Show established that all the AHS seasons are linked, and Hotel will drive that point home as characters from past years check into the hotel.

Character Names

Much like the AHS producers on last year’s Comic-Con panel, on Sunday Murphy announced the names of the characters the AHS veterans are set to play. Bomer’s bad guy will be Donovan, Peters will play Mr. March,  Paulson is Hypodermic Sally, and Bates is Iris.

Jessica Lange Could Return

The Supreme herself, Jessica Lange, has confirmed multiple times that she’s not doing AHS anymore, but Murphy teased her possible return in a year or two. Yes, the 6,000-plus seat room erupted in cheers at the news.

UPDATE, 7/13: FX released the first teaser for the new season the day after the Freak Show SDCC panel. No, there's no actual footage from the set, but there is a reference to Lady Gaga and a silver hand with long, pointy nails. "The Lady is ready to check in to AHS:Hotel this October on FX," reads the caption on the network's Facebook post
