Alec Baldwin Teases Return as Donald Trump on ‘Saturday Night Live’

He’s baaack! Alec Baldwin teased his return to Saturday Night Live as President-elect Donald Trump ahead of the Saturday, December 17, episode.

The two-time Emmy winner, 58, shared a series of tweets early Saturday morning as he prepared to bring back his controversial impersonation, for which he won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series last week.

“I won’t apple-agize. Tonight at 11:30. Live,” Baldwin wrote on Twitter, referencing an earlier SNL joke that Trump, 70, cannot pronounce the word “apologize.” Baldwin then tweeted a photo of himself donning his Trump wig and costume, writing, “… @snl tonight.”

The actor was noticeably absent from last week’s episode of Saturday Night Live, in which the president-elect appointed Breaking Bad meth kingpin Walter White (Bryan Cranston) as the head of the Drug Enforcement Agency in a hilarious cold-open sketch. (Trump was later played by wrestler John Cena in a sketch that imagined how the former reality TV star viewed himself and the world.)

Trump has repeatedly blasted both Baldwin’s impression and the NBC variety show itself as “unwatchable,” “totally biased,” “unfunny” and “sad.” Despite the real estate mogul’s criticism, Baldwin’s portrayal has become a fan favorite and many of the election-related cold-open skits have gone viral online.

Saturday’s episode will be hosted by Casey Affleck. Chance the Rapper will be the musical guest.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET.
