Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj Sweat It Out With Unitard-Clad Men in Performance at 2016 MTV VMAs

Bang, bang! Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj hit the stage together for a knockout performance at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28.

Grande, 23, and Minaj, 33, belted out their latest collaboration, “Side to Side,” from the pop singer’s third studio album, Dangerous Woman. Grande sweat it out during the performance, bicycling with female backup dancers (spin class, anyone?!) before doing weights next to unitard-clad men. Minaj then joined her on stage and showed off her slim figure in a pink leotard.

Grande premiered “Side to Side” during a Beats 1 interview on Apple Music in May. “I’ve been here all night / I’ve been here all day / And boy, got me walkin’ side to side,” Grande sings in the song. Minaj chimes in, “This the new style with the fresh type of flow / Wrist icicle, ride d— bicycle / Come true yo, get you this type of blow / If you wanna menage I got a tricycle.”

This year’s award show was extra special for the “Into You” singer. Grande was nominated five times, in categories such as Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Editing for “Into You.”

Minaj, meanwhile, made headlines for her appearance at the 2015 VMAs. At the time, she called out host Miley Cyrus while accepting the award for Best Hip-Hop music video. (Days earlier, Cyrus called out Minaj for being sour that she wasn’t nominated for Video of the Year.) Minaj said, “Miley, what’s good?” on stage and mouthed “Don’t play with me bitch.”
