Big Brother 17 Reveals Which Twins Are Competing: Find Out Everything that Happened in Week 1

Big Brother
Find out who was evicted first, which twins are fooling the houseguests, and who won the HoH competitions in Us Weekly's recap of Big Brother 17 week one!

Twins, twists, and alliance trouble, oh my! It’s only been a few weeks, but so much has already happened in Season 17 of Big Brother.

Audrey has formed an alliance with literally everyone, Jace was the first person evicted from the house, and even Kathy Griffin stopped by as a part of the new #BBTakeover. Oh, and the Twin Twist was finally revealed.

Here’s what’s gone down this season so far:

Everyone Is In An Alliance With Audrey

Houseguest Audrey wants everyone to work with her, so she ran through the house, gathering everyone she wanted to join her ever-growing alliance. Alliances are an expected part of the game and can be effective, but too bad she was going about recruiting people in the middle of the night and doing it all wrong. Everyone was groggy, miserable, and this put an even bigger target on her back.

The Twin Twist Revealed

In addition to the #BBTakeover and Battle of the Block twists this year, the twins taking part in the Twin Twist had been kept secret until now. The rules of the twist are as follows: If the twins can survive the first five evictions in the game, they can both enter the house and play the game together. Last week, it was revealed that Liz and her sister Julia are the twins playing the game as one person. They are allowed just ten minutes to inform one another about what’s going on in the house before they switch for several days. Liz and Julia have already switched four times and no one has caught on yet. This week, both Liz and Julia were able to cast a single vote — a Big Brother first.

Jace Was The First Person Evicted

James' attempt at backdooring Jace was successful, as Jace was the first person evicted from the Big Brother house this season. With a vote of 12 to 1 (for some reason Audrey being the one vote) Jace was evicted. Thankfully, he was able to plug his Instagram and music page before leaving the house. We barely knew ya, Jace!

Kathy Griffin Is Back This Summer To Take Over The Game

Comedian Kathy Griffin is back. Yes, the Big Brother superfan — who is currently on an 80-city tour — is obsessed with Big Brother. She spilled her thoughts on this season to Julie Chen, revealing that she thinks there are already too many alliances, that she wants a girl to win, and making fun of Audrey’s midnight rampage. She also loves the twin twist. Griffin’s big part in this season is about giving someone the power of the “last blab,” something for which she’s notorious, of course. She will call one of the phones in the house and whoever answers the phone on the seventh call gets the chance to keep three people from voting in the next eviction. This could shake up the game in a very interesting way.

The New Heads of Household and Nominees

In a puzzle competition that had the houseguests piecing together a poster for a fake movie starring Griffin, it was an all-girl triumph. Becky was the first to win the first HoH challenge, followed by Shelli, who won the second. Together they nominated Da’Vonne, John, Jason, and Steve. Jason and Steve won the Battle of the Block, leaving Da’Vonne and John — Shelli’s nominations — intact. Though the plan was to originally backdoor Audrey, the current and sole HoH, Shelli, is keen on getting Da’Vonne out of the house. We’ll see what happens this week.
