Such talented costars! Jurassic World actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard made the rounds on the late-night talk shows on Wednesday, June 10, and showed off some surprising skills while promoting the dino blockbuster.
Howard, 34, started her night with Conan O’Brien, making a solo stop on Conan. She chatted with the fellow redhead about Jurassic World before he brought up one of the most impressive lines on Howard’s resume.
“You can cry on command?” O’Brien, 52, questioned. “Really? How long do you need to prepare for that?”
The Help star explained that she needed little prompting, and told O’Brien that if they just kept talking she could make it happen. She took a sip of water to make sure that she was hydrated for her sobfest and listened as the comedian rambled on about Home Depot.
Slowly but surely, Howard began to tear up as O’Brien chattered about Home Depot’s selection. With her voice cracking and a grimace on her face, two clear teardrops finally dropped from the star’s eyes.
O’Brien was shocked by the feat, and as soon as he stopped discussing the home store, Howard broke, cracking up at herself and her tears. Once she collected herself, the emotional actress continued her busy night, meeting up with Pratt and castmate Jake Johnson on the Late Late Show.
Host James Corden brought up Howard’s role of park operations manager Claire Dearing in Jurassic World, and the impressive amount of running in high heels that she does in the flick — required to escape the park’s dinosaurs.
“I did a lot of ankle exercises — I trained for running in heels as if I was in the Olympics,” the mother of two revealed. “This is a life and death situation here, I better be sorted.”
Howard’s hard work paid off as Pratt said her scenes went off without a hitch.
“She did a phenomenal job,” he told host Corden. “It wasn’t just on hard surfaces — this is through the jungles in Hawaii, it was through mud — she was a total trooper and never once rolled an ankle or popped a knee.”
Asked whether he had experience running in heels, Pratt laughed, responding, “I’ve never found a pair big enough.”
Corden then provided the hunky star with just that, handing him a pair of oversized red heeled shoes. Pratt slipped on the slinky shoes and gave it his best shot, trotting around the Los Angeles studio on his toes.
