Committing to his craft! Years before he beefed up for Guardians of the Galaxy and showed off his newly cut body, a less fit Chris Pratt stripped stark naked for one special Parks and Recreation scene.
The hunky star, 35, recalled the bold moment in an interview with Graham Norton on Thursday, May 28, telling the UK TV presenter just why he decided to bare it all. The moment took place in the second season of the NBC comedy, in which Pratt played lovable loser Andy Dwyer.
"We were shooting a scene where my character turns up naked at my costar's door," the Everwood alum began, referencing a move Andy employed to try to win back his ex-girlfriend Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones). "I was wearing skin-colored underwear and I wasn't getting quite the right reaction I was hoping for. It was late in the day so I decided to improvise and drop my trousers for the take."
Not only had Ann not asked Andy to pay her a naked visit, she was not even the one to answer the door. When he made his nude appearance, he found himself face-to-face with Leslie Knope, who was played by Amy Poehler and was not expecting Pratt's full-frontal nudity.
"Her reaction was great!" Pratt told Norton of the moment that Poehler, 43, got an eyeful of his naked body. "It was the take they used!"
While Pratt's wild move was a hit with his costars, it wasn't quite as successful with the network. The Lego Movie star explained on The Graham Norton Show that he was scolded by NBC soon after.
"I got a letter from NBC's HR department that said, 'There is protocol about nude scenes. This is not a joke and you are being reprimanded and you can't go around telling people about this like some kind of joke!'" he explained. "I've framed the letter!"
