Pull it over, Real Housewives! Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are the new sheriffs in town. The unofficial Queen of Twitter and her Grammy-winning husband took to Snapchat to humorously air their grievances against the popular Bravo franchise, which Teigen loves and routinely tweets about.
In a series of photos and videos posted to the supermodel’s Snapchat on Thursday, August 25 — playfully labeled “Real Housewives Police” — the model, 30, and Legend applied the bearded police officer filter and got deep about the first ladies of Bravo.
To start, the couple shared their doubts about the shows' realness. “John and I are starting to think that some of the Real Housewives’ situations are just for the show,” Teigen said.
The “All of Me” singer, 37, was quick to note that the Housewives don’t deal with their issues in the usual way: “How come every problem is solved by a girls' trip of people that aren't even friends with each other? People actually don't confront people in real life like this. They just ignore them. You don't have to confront people about everything. You don't have to have a dinner with the person you hate."
The Lip Sync Battle host joked, “Clearly you’ve never been in a fight, because when I get in a fight I want to go to Aruba.”
The gorgeous couple does have a point because the Housewives do attempt to "solve" their problems over meals and while abroad in tropical locations — the Bahamas, Punta Cana and Puerto Rico, to name a few. Never forget Kelly Killoren Bensimon’s complete meltdown while vacationing with the New York housewives in the Virgin Islands (aka “Scary Island”), and those "dinner parties from hell" on RHOBH are practically staples every season.
The self-proclaimed police’s questions then turned financial when Teigen asked, “How come when Real Housewives [cast members] talk about their money, they never include the money they make from Real Housewives?”
According to Page Six, Bravo's paychecks caused major drama among the Real Housewives of New York in 2015. Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer reportedly held out for more money after they found out about Bethenny Frankel's million-dollar paycheck. Frankel recently told Entertainment Tonight that she's "distancing herself from the show."
The parents of 4-month-old Luna also shared with fans who their favorite housewives are. The Southside With You executive producer favors “the ones in charge, like Lisa Vanderpump [and] NeNe [Leakes],” while the Sports Illustrated model is all about RHONY’s Jules Wainstein, who is currently in the midst of a messy divorce.
In addition to their hilarious Snapchats, Teigen also proudly tweeted about Legend’s impressive Bravo knowledge on Wednesday, August 24, writing, “I just called Briana from real housewives “Bri-aw-na” and john said “it’s Bri-ah-na” – I’ve done so well.”
