New York Knicks player Jalen Brunson is trying his best to stay out of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story.
During an appearance on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, host Jenna Bush Hager asked the newly crowned NBA champion whether Madison Square Garden could make a great wedding venue for the couple.
“Great venue,” Brunson, 29, shared before perfectly changing the subject. “A lot of great things happen there, you know? When we’re down one and you miss a wide-open layup.”
Teammate Josh Hart started laughing at the reference to a pivotal moment in the NBA Finals.
“I wanted to set up an epic last possession. We wanted to have that OG tip in,” Hart, 31, joked. “I was willing to sacrifice that layup so the OG could get the tip in. I was trying to be a good teammate.”
Ever since Swift and Kelce, both 36, got engaged in August 2025, the couple have remained coy about any and all details surrounding their wedding.
Rumors, however, have continued to spread that the A-list duo are planning to say “I do” in July at the Knicks’ and Rangers’ home venue.
While pop culture fans know Madison Square Garden famously hosts concerts, the arena can also be rented out for private parties. The space has previously been used for corporate events, graduations, performances, film shoots, press conferences, fashion shows and other private gatherings.

Swift had a front-row seat to the NBA Finals when she attended Game 4 at MSG in New York City. She also joined Kelce during the Eastern Conference NBA Finals on May 23.
Although there is plenty of excitement surrounding Swift’s upcoming nuptials, New York is currently more focused on celebrating the Knicks, who defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Saturday, June 13.
Despite not winning at Madison Square Garden in New York City, plenty of A-list celebrities and die-hard Knicks fans made the trip to Texas to watch their team secure a historic championship win.
Timothée Chalamet, Sydney Sweeney, Ben Stiller, Craig Melvin, Fat Joe and Tracy Morgan were some of the famous faces who celebrated big in Texas.
“We had some tequila, some Patron, some wine,” Hart teased on Today about the post-game celebrations. “There were a couple of drinks.”
Brunson added, “We’re still in the midst of celebrating all of it.”
Today With Jenna & Sheinelle airs on NBC weekdays at 10 a.m. ET.
