It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it! With days to go until Janel Parrish debuts on season 19 of Dancing With the Stars, the Pretty Little Liars actress is spending every last minute in the rehearsal studio with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and as this beind-the-scenes video shows, the couple is forced to rely on one another for R&R during breaks.
“Girls across America are very jealous right now — I’m rubbing Val’s abs. They feel nice!” Parrish demonstrated, before her partner admitted her antics were making him feel “insecure.”
Parrish tells Us Weekly that when she’s not worrying about keeping her jive choreography straight, she’s daydreaming about the outfits she’ll get to wear in the ballroom. “I cannot stress enough how excited I am for the outfits. I am the biggest girly girl and love shiny, fringy things. Bring it, I’m ready!”
A quick learner thanks to childhood dance training in ballet, jazz and hip-hop, Parrish has already impressed Chmerkovskiy with her dedication to DWTS.
“People have really high expectations for Janel, obviously, so I want to exceed those. She’s got a great attitude,” the pro tells Us. “To listen to the sound of my voice for four hours every day is tough — I commend her on being patient with me. We practice about four to five hours a day. She is still alive!”
