Jason Kelce showed off his noticeably slimmer figure while participating in a sumo wrestling challenge.
Kelce, 38, traveled to Houston, Texas, to train with sumo wrestlers and step into the ring against three champions. In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel on Wednesday, October 28, Kelce undressed to wear a mawashi.
“My belly is a little bit amped up,” Kelce said while putting on the cloth belt. “I’ve been eating a lot of ice cream this summer.”
Kelce, who is a father of four daughters, has been candid about his weight loss journey since retiring from the NFL in 2024. (Jason and wife Kylie Kelce welcomed Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025, respectively.)
“Right now, I’m about 277. I’m almost 20 pounds down right now,” Jason told GQ in June 2024. “It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.”
“I don’t want to get too small,” Jason added. “I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size. … I’ll still be big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack. But I’ll still be able to have that stature a little bit.”
Two years later, Jason reflected on his frame while in the NFL Network broadcast booth and praising Jacksonville Jaguars’ emergency long snapper, DaVon Hamilton.
“I love it from the big fella,” Jason said. “When I got fat, when I put on weight — I used to long snap in high school — when I got to 300 pounds-ish, it became really hard to look in between your legs. … That’s an awesome job to come in there in an emergency and help your team out. Way to go, DaVon Hamilton. I love it.”
Jason’s broadcast partner and former NFL quarterback, Kurt Warner, noted that the former Philadelphia Eagles center has “never been fat” but is “just husky.”
Jason, meanwhile, replied with referencing the Body Mass Index (BMI), which assigns a value to an individual’s body mass based on height and weight.
“If you look at the BMI, I think I’m technically obese. Morbidly,” Kelce said.
