Jimmy Fallon Quizzes Parents on Harry Potter Trivia on Tonight Show, Hilarity Ensues

Minus 10 points for Gryffindor! Parents and their young children may flock to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios all year round, but don't expect the former to know anything about the J.K. Rowling series. During the Tonight Show on Wednesday, June 18, Jimmy Fallon put moms and dads to the test about all things Harry Potter. The outcome? Well, Hermione Granger is probably shaking her head right about now!

In the new Mom and Pop Quiz segment, Fallon sent Arthur Meyer, a writer from his NBC talk show, to the theme park in Orlando, Fla. While parents stumbled during the Q&A, their kids were cringing on the sidelines, often wincing and face-palming in embarrassment.

"What is the name of the first Harry Potter book?" Arthur asked one mom. Instead of saying Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, she replied: Harry Goes to School.

"What is Hermione's last name?" the writer asked a dad. Nope, he didn't utter the correct answer, which is Granger. "Jones," he said.

A second father didn't know that the right spell to start a fire was "Incendio!" Instead, he stuck to a familiar term. "Liar, liar, pants on fire!"

The clueless parents were also sweating it out when asked to identify Lord Voldemort and Ron Weasley when shown a photo. "Uh, Barry," a dad said of Harry Potter's redheaded best friend.

Other questions asked included which sport Harry Potter likes to play, the shape of his forehead scar, and to name at least one of the four houses at Hogwarts.

Fallon has been filming his show on location in the sunshine state. Earlier this week, NBC pals and Today show co-hosts Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist, and Tamron Hall also visited Diagon Alley. The new attraction will officially open on July 8.
