Jon and Kate Gosselin's public war of words has inspired an episode of Law & Order.
The Oct. 16 episode – titled "Reality Bites" – centers around a reality show, Larry Plus 10, which documents the struggles of a single dad who's raising 10 adopted special needs kids by himself — after his wife, Joy, is bludgeoned to death.
According to the New York Post, "Detectives Lupo and Bernard (Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson) grow suspicious when it's revealed that Joy Johnson wasn't totally on board with doing the show — she feared for her kids' privacy — and that Larry, a real estate developer deeply in debt, signed the lucrative Larry Plus 10 contract the day after his wife's murder."
Adding to the drama: Larry has a girlfriend — the young babysitter.
There's also a character named Belinda Alvarez (Nina Lisandrello) — who resembles octuplet mother Nadya Suleman — who has 10 kids (via in-vitro fertilization) and is competing with the Johnsons to get the show.
"I was hoping for Octuplets, but God decided to bestow that blessing on Nadya Suleman," the character tells detectives.
She says she wanted her show to be "like Jon & Kate, you know, only less depressing" — and is furious after losing out to the Johnsons, the Post reports.
In real life, Jon, 32, and Kate, 34, are engaged in a heated battle.
Jon has halted production on her newly renamed TLC show, Kate Plus 8.
She has accused him of leaving her with bills, removing $230,000 from their joint account.
He says her claims are "a total fabrication. I've never taken any money out because, over 10 years, Kate handled all the banking," he said on The Insider. "She's hiding money."
