Kelly Clarkson Admits Dating Justin Guarini, Denies Calling Miley Cyrus a “Pitchy Stripper” on WWHL

We always wondered, did she or didn't she? And now Kelly Clarkson has come clean: She did date American Idol runner-up Justin Guarini!

The "A Moment Like This" singer took the opportunity to set some records straight during her Thursday, March 5 appearance on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live.

And on top of making the admission that she and Guarini were more than just costars in the high-intensity period that followed her American Idol win, she also wanted to make it clear her comments about  "pitchy strippers" at the 2013 VMAs, widely assumed to be about Miley Cyrus and her infamous twerking performance, were not necessarily directed at the "Wrecking Ball" singer.

Playing Cohen’s "Plead the Fifth" game, Clarkson was hilariously candid — but refused to be drawn on who exactly she was referring to during her tweets, if it wasn’t Cyrus.

“I never said Miley Cyrus. The fact that I tweeted ‘pitchy stripper’ and people said Miley Cyrus is not my problem,” the 32-year-old singer insisted. “I never said Miley Cyrus. Everyone else said Miley Cyrus. I’m not saying who it was.”

Her responses to questions about her former love life, however, were more direct.

"We didn’t date during Idol,” Clarkson said, when asked if she and Guarini had been lovers during the hit TV show. “We did date," she continued, trying to remember specifics. "I feel like we weren’t dating through the movie [From Justin to Kelly]. We did date a little bit. I think any two people who were thrown together that much, I mean guy, girl, you put 'Timeless,' that song from From Justin to Kelly, you can't fight it!"
