Seth Meyers named SNL pal Fred Armisen as the bandleader on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Reunited SNL buddies! Seth Meyers announced on Monday, Feb. 10 that his old Saturday Night Live colleague Fred Armisen will be his bandleader on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

"Here's the first photo of the new @LateNightSeth band! #8GBand," Meyers captioned a snapshot of himself posing with Armisen and Armisen's 8G band. In the photo, Armisen, 47, holds a guitar while posing with his four bandmates. Meyers, 40, explained on Twitter: "Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he's off shooting Portlandia. #8GBand."

Armisen left SNL in 2013 and currently stars on the IFC sketch comedy TV series Portlandia, which he co-created. He is also a drummer and guitarist who played background drums for Blue Man Group in Chicago in the 1990s.

Meyers is set to take over as the new host of NBC's Late Night after Jimmy Fallon makes his departure this week. During his five-year gig on Late Night, Fallon had The Roots as his in-house band and the group will now follow him to the Tonight Show.

Meyers will make his debut as Late Night host on Feb. 24, while Fallon will premiere The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Feb. 17.
