The bonds of Beverly Hills live on. Shannen Doherty appeared on The Meredith Vieira Show on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and spoke kindly about her former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Tori Spelling.
Though she famously feuded with the now-struggling star, Doherty offered well-wishes and reflected sadly on Spelling’s dramatic personal life, which is highlighted in her reality show True Tori.
“I think there is something very, for me, my heart breaks a little bit for her,” Doherty, 43, admitted to host Vieira. “I only wish Tori well and a happy life and happy marriage. She’s got beautiful children.”
Spelling’s roller coaster marriage has been well-documented in True Tori. The Mystery Girls actress, 41, has been married to actor Dean McDermott since 2006, and they share four children, Liam, 7, Stella, 6, Hattie, 3, and Finn, 2. McDermott, 48, has ongoing issues with infidelity and considered himself a sex addict. Find out what advice she would give to Tori.
“Putting it out there must be cathartic for her,” Doherty continued of Spelling’s habit of documenting her issues on TV. “It’s her way of dealing with it, maybe that’s her form of therapy.”
“The show I get uncomfortable at times watching it because I know her,” added Doherty, who played new girl Brenda Walsh opposite Spelling’s Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210. “I kind of want to go, ‘No, no, no, no.’ But, who are we to judge anybody’s life and what they’re going through sand how they handle it? We all stumble and we all make mistakes and we all have our own process.”
