Shannen Doherty

Born in 1971, Shannen Doherty debuted as an actress with her role as Jenny Wilder in Little House on the Prairie in 1982. Several years later, she landed her first big film role in 1989’s Heathers.

From there, she starred in the biggest role of her lifetime as bad girl Brenda Walsh on the teen soap Beverly Hills, 90210, a role she held until 1994 and reprised in The CW’s 90210 revival starting in 2008. A year later, Doherty appeared in the cult classic movie Mallrats and the first three seasons of the hit TV series Charmed from 1998 to 2001.

In March 2010, Doherty competed in the 10th season of Dancing With the Stars with partner Mark Ballas, placing eleventh.

Doherty first battled cancer from 2015 to 2017, sharing nearly three years later that it had returned. In June 2023, Doherty shared that her breast cancer had spread into her brain. Us Weekly confirmed her death at age 53 in July 2024.

She was married to Rick Salomon from 2002 until their marriage was annulled the following year and then Ashley Hamilton for one year in 1993. Then, Doherty wed Kurt Iswarienko on October 15, 2011. The nuptials were filmed for Doherty’s WE reality series, Shannen Says. She filed to divorce Iswarienko one day before her death after a long battle with breast cancer in 2024.
