A new season of Sister Wives is almost here, and the cast can’t believe Kody Brown and his wife, Robyn Brown, are staying away from the cameras.
“There has been a lot that’s happened,” Janelle Brown says in TLC’s new trailer released on Monday, September 14. “I was flabbergasted, really, when I got the news. “
Meri Brown adds, “I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show.”
While fans will have to tune in to see why Kody, 57, and Robyn, 47, stepped away from the hit series, Janelle, 57, Meri, 55, and Christine Brown are ready to continue documenting the good, bad and unpredictable parts of their lives.
Along the way, they may just become closer as they put any past drama behind them.
“We were married to Kody and there was always that underlying tension,” Janelle says about her relationship with Meri. “Kody and Robyn openly accused me of trying to cut Meri out of the land deal. Kody tells Meri it’s my fault, and I’m like, ‘Why are you believing Kody?’”
Fortunately, the three ladies appear to be united in their goal to build a fulfilling life away from Kody. In one scene, the ex-wives melt down all the jewelry from their ex-husband before they pursue new romantic partners.
“My goal is to find where I’m going to be for the rest of my life,” Meri proclaims, “and check out different men while I’m at it.”

After Janelle makes it clear she doesn’t want to date another pretty boy, she comes across a new man that sweeps her off her feet.
“His name is Peter,” she teases. “There are no red flags. Peter is so nice.”
As for Christine, 54, she is still working on her relationship with husband David Woolley. In between couple’s therapy, the duo partake in a game night where things get steamy with some sex talk.
According to TLC, this season will follow each woman as she embraces life on her own terms. While their journeys are separate, the women remain connected through their shared history.
“Throughout the season, Christine, Janelle and Meri come together for gatherings and difficult conversations,” the network teases. “Old wounds and unresolved feelings don’t disappear overnight, and their relationships continue to evolve as they navigate what moving forward means for each of them.”
Sister Wives returns to TLC on Sunday, October 4, at 10 p.m. ET.
