Craig Conover has seen it all during his 14 years on reality TV — but there’s apparently one Southern Charm season 12 surprise that will leave even Us die-hard fans shocked.
“We just wrapped season 12 of Southern Charm,” the 37-year-old TV personality confirmed on the Monday, August 3, episode of the “Good Guys” podcast. “We’ve been filming for 14 years, which is crazy.”
Craig didn’t dive too deep into what’s to come on the next season, but he did tease a fun moment between him and Madison LeCroy — which he insisted he didn’t spoil before filming.
“This is what producers don’t realize is, like, there’s something that happens this season that I kept a secret,” he revealed.
The Bravolebrity then explained that “you can’t talk about things off camera, or you shouldn’t. That used to be a strict rule.”
While adhering to the rule, Craig said he butted heads with one of the producers, who was convinced that he’s already spilled the tea to Madison, 35.
“Me and Madison have a scene this year … and there’s a big thing that happens this year,” Craig said, playing coy about what the “secret” was.
He recalled, “Her and I had traveled together for something and when I was about to tell her on camera — I’d been waiting days to tell her this — one of the showrunners accused me, [saying], ‘I know you already told her, so let’s just get this over with.’”
Craig was applauded by the allegation. “I was like, ‘Motherf***er!’ I was like, you think I f***ing told her off camera?’”
The Sewing Down South founder claimed he “saved” the conversation for the cameras as he always does, noting the secret was eating at him the whole time.
Craig has had many ups and downs since making his reality TV debut on Southern Charm during its series premiere in 2013.
Last season, was fresh off his breakup with Summer House alum Paige DeSorbo and ended up in a messy love triangle with costars Salley Carson and Charley Manley. (Craig and Paige, 33, split in fall 2024 after three years of dating.)
During a season 11 group trip to Mexico, Craig got drunk and yelled at nearly all of his friends, leaving him back at odds with his on-again, off-again BFF Austen Kroll. When the reunion came around, Craig found himself in the hot seat.
“You guys have villainized vulnerability so unfortunately I’m not going to be vulnerable with you guys anymore,” Craig told producers during part 2 of the Southern Charm season 11 reunion, which aired in March.
When Craig was confronted by his castmates for his actions in Mexico, he went off, claiming that perhaps he wouldn’t return for another season.
“God, this f***ing show, man. Maybe this isn’t right for me,” Craig confessed after being accused of having anger issues. “Maybe I just shouldn’t be here.”
After Craig’s costars explained their side of the story, he admitted, “I always focused on ‘If I didn’t drink it wouldn’t be an issue.”
Moving forward, he said he was “obviously sorry” to his friends and hoped to “make sure it never happens again.”
Despite his rocky relationships at the end of season 11, Craig is back for the upcoming season, which pals Salley, 31, and Austen, 39, exclusively told Us in May will focus a lot of the group’s current dynamic.
“Some friendships, I feel like, are lost,” Salley teased. “A couple friendships have been lost on my side.”
Austen added, “I mean, I just think that if we’re being honest, I think that a lot of people that have been on this show for a long time are getting older, and things are settling down, and you have different ways. Like, different things make me excited than they maybe did five years ago.”
Southern Charm season 12 will premiere on Bravo sometime this fall.
