Fearing the worst. Newlyweds Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert disclose their biggest concerns on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars’ Friday, December 2, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
In the We TV relationship series’ preview clip, Dr. Venus Nicolino encourages the couples to share their feelings. “I want you to walk through each one, and I want you to explain,” Nicolino says.
Roper tells the cameras, “Right now, I’m really self-conscious.” She continues, “This is really vulnerable for me, for my comfort zone — this is a big leap.”
After a moment, the Bachelor in Paradise season 2 alum says to the group, “I’m disgusting.”
Dr. Nicolino asks, “Why do you feel you’re disgusting?” At that, Roper answers, “Because I was told I was every day. Like, everything I do, I taught myself that.”
Fellow Marriage Boot Camp cast member Karen Gravano offers her two cents about Roper’s previous hardships. “If Jade lets what happened in her childhood — things that her mother said to her — affect her, it’s going to affect her marriage,” the Mob Wives standout tells the camera. “It’s just sad she views herself as something totally different than people view her.”
Next, Tolbert is called to the hot seat. “I’m scared of getting a divorce — that’s half the reason why I shut you out,” he admits to his wife. “In the back of my mind, it is scary that something could change for you down the road, because I saw that happen with my family.”
The Bachelorette season 11 alum tells the group, “Me and Jade did rush into a relationship, and we haven’t had that time to go through everything together. … That’s probably my biggest fear.”
