Get your Cookie fix! As Empire fans anxiously await a second season of the Fox show, star Taraji P. Henson is dusting off her character Cookie Lyon for Saturday Night Live.
Henson, 44, is hosting the next episode of SNL on Saturday, April 11, and is featured in new promotional spots that appeared online this week.
The Person of Interest star, who will be joined on Saturday's episode by musical guest Mumford & Sons, appears in the clip with SNL's Taran Killam. "Hi, I'm Taraji P. Henson and I'm hosting SNL this week with Mumford & Sons," the star began.
"Taraji, you are great on Empire," Killam, 33, responded. "You're not anything like your character Cookie in real life, are you?"
In a quintessentially Cookie move, Henson whipped around and slapped Killam across the face, exclaiming, "Don't ask questions you won't like the answers to, little boy," with a laugh. Henson and Killam go on to jibe one another, tease the episode, and act out a sports-themed spoof of Empire called Umpire.
Henson, who helped Empire become one of the biggest shows of the year, will be hosting SNL for the first time in her career. The veteran star booked another big gig last month after the success of Empire, guest-hosting Live With Kelly and Michael alongside Michael Strahan in Kelly Ripa's absence.
