While hosts Ludacris, Gina Rodriguez, and Josh Peck were entertaining, it was the top-notch performances and the touching acceptance speeches that really blew Us away this year.

Here were our favorite moments:

1. Little Mix’s Black Magic

The gals from across the pond put on quite the show, performing their new hit “Black Magic.” Starting off dressed in drab, baggy clothes, the girls began the tune looking uncomfortable. But after a burst of on-stage smoke, they emerged from the fog looking like the pop superstars they are. Zayn who?

2. Empire Reigns

Go up down, up down, up down! Empire fans got their fix when stars Jussie Smollet and Bryshere Y. Gray hit the stage to sing the Fox show’s hit “You’re So Beautiful.” But the crowd really went wild when their costar Gabourey Sidibe made a cameo and started to dance along. Smollet co-wrote the song with his longtime pal Sidibe in mind, so the moment was extra special!

3. Nina Bares Her Teeth

Nina Dobrev tugged at our heartstrings during her acceptance speech for her roles on The Vampire Diaries. It was especially heartbreaking when the CW alum tossed her fake vampire fangs, joking, “That’s right, I don’t need these anymore.”

Dobrev then went on to share a special message with her fans: “The last few months have been a really big change for me. Change, it’s a scary word or at least I used to think that because it meant new beginnings — new beginnings for a future that was unknown. But change is necessary, necessary for you to grow and learn and to better yourself because everything in life comes to an end. As this chapter in my life comes to an end, I look back at it with a grateful heart and I smile.” Sob.

4. Paul Walker’s Posthumous Win

Gone but never forgotten. After Furious 7 won Choice Action Movie, stars Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, and co-host Ludacris took to the stage to accept the award and honor their late costar.

“I can’t stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us,” Diesel said during his acceptance speech. “One of the best blessings in our lives was the fact that we had the opportunity to call ‘Pablo’ our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us. And since this is a Teen Choice Award, there is one teen in the audience that is a part of the family that kept us going. It’s Paul Walker’s family, his brothers his parents, that kept us encouraged while we were filming Furious 7. But there’s one very, very, very special teen here, and her name is Meadow Walker.”

Though the camera didn’t pan to Paul’s teenage daughter, the audience roared. Paul was then honored posthumously with the 2015 Choice Movie Actor Action/Adventure.

5. We Love It!

What a way to end the show! Robin Thicke and Flo Rida performed their hit “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” to close out the eventful evening. The smooth stylings and uptempo raps had Us grooving in our seats.
