Another week, another series of major life events! On Monday, May 4, Teen Mom OG focused on some massive milestones for all four ladies. Amber Portwood got engaged to her boyfriend of about five minutes, Matt Baier, Maci Bookout returned to the show and tried to force her baby daddy Taylor McKinney into a proposal, Catelynn Lowell took her baby girl Novalee home, and Farrah Abraham started using baby talk with her new boy toy.
Can’t keep each one straight? Here’s what happened:
Maci Bookout
That didn’t take long! After Maci stormed away from the cameras last week, declaring she would no longer film Teen Mom OG if Farrah was on it, she was back in no time.
“I was really upset when I found out Farrah was back on the show, but I thought a lot about it, and I came up with a solution,” the Tennessee native explained. “We’re filming, but Bentley is not filming. I’m not against Farrah and what she’s doing. I just don’t necessarily think it’s appropriate for a 6-year-old to be on the same TV show when they’re talking about [her lifestyle].”
Sob, so no more Ninja Turtle pillows and precious southern baby accents?! After Maci’s big reveal, her ex Ryan Edwards posed a good question: “If I did porn, would you still film if I was on it? If they let me cover ‘it’ up with a hat or something?” He’s a man of few words, but he certainly can paint a picture.
Though she had no problem having a few laughs with her former flame, Maci wasn’t joking when it came to her boyfriend Taylor McKinney. Now that she’s pregnant with her second kid (from a second baby daddy), this redhead is ready to get that diamond ring.
“I feel like there’s no point in waiting,” a testy Maci declared, later telling Taylor, “I mean, I already feel like I’m married to you,” to which he replied, “You bitch like a married woman.” Ouch.
Catelynn Lowell
Catelynn and her fiancé Tyler Baltierra have brought home their newborn daughter and things couldn’t be better. Emotions are high as Cate relives her experience placing her first daughter Carly for adoption, but the couple couldn’t be happier.
“I feel like this is a dream,” Catelynn told Tyler. “When we left the hospital, they took me out the same doors they took me out with Carly. I just get emotional because I just love her. I’m thankful we actually got to take her home.”
“You’re the strongest woman I’ve ever met,” Tyler replied. Aww, you guys!
Meanwhile, Carly’s adoptive parents Brandon and Teresa joined in on the fun, sending Nova some of Carly’s old baby clothes.
“I know it has to be hard for Brandon and Teresa, because it’s Carly’s full sister,” Catelynn sympathized. “But we don’t ever want Nova to feel like she’s the replacement child. She’s her own person. We want to make sure she feels like her own person because we didn’t have her to replace Carly.” Team Cateler … err, Tylynn?
Amber Portwood
Whoa, slow down there! It seems like just last week Amber was introducing us to her new boyfriend, Matt Baier. Maybe that’s because it was. The Boston native is 19 years older than Ambie, and has already moved in. And he didn’t stop there!
In this week’s episode, Matt popped the question with a giant diamond ring in the middle of their favorite diner. Diamonds and grilled cheese? Yes please!
But not everyone is thrilled with the new couple’s big commitment. Amber’s cousin Krystal threw a little shade their way, saying, “My concern is that you may be moving too fast. It’s just weird to me,” and her brother Shawn urged her not to get married.
“You have the same concerns that we do, but when you love somebody, you love them,” Amber replied. It’s not until Amber’s mom Tonya noted that Matt is only four years younger than her that the reality star seemed to have some doubts.
Farrah Abraham
Watch out, Simon! Farrah’s new boy toy may have just stepped on the scene, but already she’s obsessed. The former porn star gushed to her glam squad, “Honestly, I feel like hopefully this is ‘The One.’”
Considering Simon is her first real boyfriend since her late ex Derek (Sophia’s father), she’s latched on rather quickly.
“You love me! Am I the best girlfriend ever?” Farrah declared as the laid-back Simon nodded.
“I know you don’t look at me as others do, like the public masses and all that negativity,” Farrah told her new beau.
“I feel like if I’ve got a girl who does get attention, then that means I’ve done something right,” Simon explained. Only time will tell with these two.
