Terry Crews Stuns With Shirtless “A Thousand Miles” Ribbon Dance Lip Sync Battle Performance

Can’t compete with that! Terry Crews took the stage on the latest episode of Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle on Thursday, April 23, and stunned with one surprising and impressive performance.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star, 46, faced off against Mike Tyson in an epic round of the Tonight Show spin-off. Crews gave a rendition of Run-D.M.C.‘s “Sucker M.C.’s” but had his big shining moment when performing Vanessa Carlton‘s emotional hit 2002 single “A Thousand Miles.”

Crews opened the set to the melodic piano melody of Carlton’s trademark song, sitting at a piano in a pair of white trousers and a matching white blazer with nothing underneath. The hunky actor got into the lyrics, making exaggerated facial expressions as he lip synced along, miming, “Making my way downtown / Walking fast / Faces pass / And I’m home bound / Staring blankly ahead / Just making my way / Making a way / Through the crowd / And I need you / And I miss you / And now I wonder…”

The Old Spice personality was soon joined by spinning backup dancers, who twirled as he got up from the piano. When he hit the chorus of “If I could fall / Into the sky / Do you think time / Would pass me by / ‘Cause you know I’d walk / A thousand miles / If I could / Just see you / Tonight,” Crews stripped shirtless, shedding his blazer on the stage.

Showing off his toned stomach and bulging muscles, the star then took it even further, doing choreographed dance moves as he whipped out a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon. Crews spun the pink accessory around himself to put on an impressive ribbon dance performance.

The interpretation was almost too much for Tyson, who covered his eyes with his hands and shook his head. The boxer, 48, did his best to compete with performances of The Rolling Stones‘ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and Salt-N-Pepa‘s “Push It,” but it wasn’t enough to beat Crews.
