A women’s wellness retreat has become one of the most sought-after ways to step away from daily demands and focus on physical, emotional and social health. From Tuscan farmhouses to Texas pine forests, a new generation of retreats is designing programs specifically for women — whether they’re navigating midlife transitions, recovering from burnout or simply craving sisterhood and rest.
The options below span four continents and a wide range of price points, formats and philosophies. Some lean into luxury and quiet reflection. Others emphasize movement, hormone health or cultural exploration. All of them are built around the idea that women’s wellness deserves dedicated space.
What a Women’s Wellness Retreat Actually Offers
Most retreats blend movement, mindfulness and community in ways that go beyond a standard spa weekend. Daily yoga, meditation, breathwork and nutrition-focused meals are common threads, but the programming often digs deeper — addressing topics such as feminine energy, midlife identity, hormone shifts and creative expression. Group coaching, journaling workshops and healing ceremonies frequently appear on the agenda, alongside hiking, foraging or local excursions that connect guests to the surrounding landscape.
The size of the gathering matters, too. Smaller retreats tend to foster more intimate conversation and personalized attention, while larger properties can offer more facilities and flexibility.
European Escapes: Tuscany and North Devon
Two standout European options take very different approaches to the same goal.
Coherence Retreats’ “La Dolce Vita” is set on a 13th-century farmhouse in Tuscany, Italy, and aims to reconnect guests with feminine energy through movement, creativity and sisterhood. Days are built around movement, meditation, breathwork and nourishing workshops, with foraging walks, cooking classes and village excursions woven in for shopping and exploration.
In the English countryside, Yeotown Devon offers a luxury reset experience in North Devon. While the facility isn’t exclusively women-only, it frequently hosts women-only special retreats explicitly focused on hormone health, menopause and aging. Retreats generally involve hiking, yoga and nutrition, with meals described as “fresh, organic, locally and seasonally sourced vegan, veggie and protein-rich meals that are dairy, wheat, gluten and meat-free.” Mixed-gender and family retreats are also available.
Bali and Mexico: Balancing Serenity with Culture
Goddess Retreats runs a women-only villa retreat in Seminyak, Bali, that combines shopping, cafe visits and local culture with yoga, spa treatments and healing ceremonies. The property’s poolside lounge areas and meditation gardens are designed to encourage indoor-outdoor living, with a stated aim of balancing serenity and exploration.
For women navigating midlife specifically, Advivum Journeys’ “The Re-Imagined Self” in Baja, Mexico focuses on midlife transitions and a woman’s relationship with beauty, aging and power. The program incorporates a traditional Mexican healing ceremony, meditation, whale watching and journaling, along with workshops and group coaching sessions. Guests also have time to explore nearby beaches and hikes.
Canadian Reflection in Québec City
Advivum Journeys also runs “The Cherished Self” in Québec City, Canada. With only 12 spots, the small format is designed for an intimate experience. It’s held at Le Monastère des Augustines and aimed at helping women “rebalance and rejuvenate” through reflection in a supportive environment.
Programming includes immersive workshops, coaching sessions and workbooks intended to help guests reframe their lives and goals, along with meditation walks, daily movement classes and guided walking tours of the city.
U.S. Retreats: Texas and Colorado
Two American options offer accessible alternatives for travelers staying closer to home.
Retreat in the Pines in Mineola, Texas, bills itself as the first and only women-only retreat center in Texas, operating since 2004. It hosts themed weekend retreats exclusively for women, with rotating focuses that include yoga, pilates, reading, grounding ceremonies and mindfulness throughout the year.
In Boulder, Colorado, the Colorado Chautauqua Women’s Retreats were designed by an all-female team focused on women’s wellness and empowerment. The three-night retreats include activities, nutritious farm-to-table meals and access to historic buildings, gardens and 40 miles of hiking trails.
Coming Soon: Canyon Ranch Austin
Canyon Ranch is expanding into Texas with a new 600-acre property on the outskirts of Austin, slated to open in fall 2026. According to reporting on women-focused resorts, the new ranch will be primarily focused on women’s health, with a large emphasis on the physiological changes women face at different stages of life. Its programming is set to cover sleep, nutrition, postpartum depression and midlife beauty, among other concerns.
How to Choose the Right Retreat
The best fit depends on what stage of life — and what kind of reset — a traveler is looking for. Women navigating perimenopause or menopause may gravitate toward hormone-focused programs like those at Yeotown Devon or Canyon Ranch Austin. Those craving cultural immersion alongside wellness might prefer Bali, Tuscany or Baja. And travelers looking for something closer to home, or a shorter time commitment, have strong options in Texas and Colorado.
Group size, retreat length, dietary philosophy and the balance between structured programming and free time are all worth weighing before booking. Many of these programs sell out months in advance, particularly the smaller ones — so planning ahead matters.
