At least they have a sense of humor about it! Stars including Ryan Gosling, Kate Hudson and Zac Efron were featured in the 10th installment of Jimmy Kimmel‘s Mean Tweets on Wednesday, September 21, and they laughed out loud at what some of their critics had to say.
Hugh Grant kicked off the Jimmy Kimmel Live! segment by reading the following tweet: “Watching Hugh Grant and his stutteringly pathetic ‘charm’ is about as appealing to me as closing my scrotum in a DVD case.”
“Are these real or do you make them up to be especially nasty?” the 56-year-old asked a producer.
Next, it was Hudson’s turn. The Deepwater Horizon star, 37, giggled as she read the slam about her: “Kate Hudson is a dead eyed trash bag that smells like low tide.”
Norman Reedus got rudely propositioned, Chris Evans was taunted for wearing sweaters, Melissa McCarthy was called the white people’s Madea and Margot Robbie was told she needed to be “tongue-punched” before it was Paul Rudd‘s turn.
“Paul Rudd is the most boring vanilla dude,” the Ant-Man star read as he cracked up. “You know he just sits at home with his wife having a bland spaghetti dinner talking about his day.”
“That’s pretty funny,” the 47-year-old admitted.
“Why does Ryan Gosling always look like he’s trying to squeeze a fart out without making any noise?” asked one commenter.
“Because I’m a gentleman,” the 35-year-old replied.
“Has Zac Efron ever been in a film where he didn’t play a total douche?” the Neighbors star read. “I’ve never seen one of his films, I’m just judging by his face.”
Watch the video above to see more stars including Jane Lynch, Kiefer Sutherland and Bryan Cranston, who does a more-than-all-right impression of Matthew McConaughey and Jim Carrey.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on ABC weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.
