Jim Carrey didn’t walk away from the 2019 Golden Globes a winner, but at least he had the support of new girlfriend Ginger Gonzaga! Hours before the ceremony on Sunday, January 6, Carrey’s rep confirmed the budding relationship to Us Weekly.
Gonzaga, 34, praised her beau on the day of the award show, captioning a photo of the two of them on Instagram. “Most partial to this talented nominee,” she wrote.

They’re love interests on and off screen. On the Showtime dramedy Kidding, in which Carrey plays puppeteer Jeff Piccirillo in a Golden Globes-nominated performance, Gonzaga plays Vivian, a terminally ill woman his character dates.

While the actress had starring roles in the TBS comedy Wrecked and the ABC sitcom Mixology, she also popped up on the TV shows Chance, I’m Dying Up Here and Those Who Can’t. Plus, Gonzaga has a recurring role on the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie.

Gonzaga was one of the original cohosts of Hulu web series The Morning After, described by the streaming service as “a smart, daily shot of pop culture to help Hulu users stay up to date.” Her last episode streamed in 2012, and the show itself ended in 2014.

Gonzaga wrote, directed and starred in Your Day, sharing the screen with Kevin (Probably) Saves the World actor Jason Ritter. The duo played a couple who “spend the day in a hotel room on a VERY specific day,” according to the short film’s logline.

On her official website, Gonzaga says she sings, performs stand-up comedy, and holds a B.A. degree from UC Santa Barbara, where she majored in political science/international relations and minored in Chinese.
