BET is bidding farewell to Being Mary Jane with a bang … and some cake! The network announced on Tuesday, April 16, that it had created an edible, wedding cake-themed billboard in honor of the upcoming two-hour series finale film, which features a walk down the aisle for titular character Mary Jane Paul, played by Gabrielle Union.

Fans can get a look at the massive ad on Saturday, April 20, from 1:00 to 7:30 p.m. in New York City. More specifically, people can revel in Mary Jane’s long-awaited nuptials at Brooklyn’s Atlantic Terminal, at the intersection of Ashland Place and Hanson Place. The interactive, edible Instagram experience allows fans to get a “taste” of the big finale wedding event.

From afar, the billboard appears to be a standard promotion, but it actually consists of a four-tiered wedding cake that is made from individual boxes, each filled with a slice of the celebratory dessert. It will also be adorned with an elaborate, ceremonial floral arrangement. Furthermore, the confection itself was created by renowned restaurateur Ayesha Curry, whose recipe adds a new twist on the classic wedding cake.

So how does this whole thing work? It’s surprisingly simple. Being Mary Jane devotees can simply walk up, pull a box from the billboard (which is more than nine feet tall) and enjoy the sweet treat. Each box is branded with tune-in information and includes a post-it message of inspiration from Mary Jane herself.

“Throughout all four seasons, Being Mary Jane drew viewers in with its raw and honest voice, enabling fans to connect with our beautifully flawed heroine in more ways than one,” Connie Orlando, head of original programming at BET Networks, said via a press release. “With this interactive experience, we are creating a unique space for our audience to celebrate Mary Jane Paul and take a ‘piece’ of their favorite show with them.”

The series finale of Being Mary Jane will feature the titular character grappling with whether she has found the right man and if a child of her own is in the cards.

The Being Mary Jane series finale will air on BET on Tuesday, April 23, at 8 p.m. ET.
