Chrissy Teigen is psyched. The star recently announced via Twitter that after many months and much consideration, she plans to launch a cooking and recipe website in the near future.
Though the website doesn’t have an exact launch date just yet, the 33-year-old told Us Weekly exclusively that she’s “so excited” to share the project with others. “I’ve been working nonstop. It’s just really, really fun to do,” she explained.
Even though the Lip Sync Battle cohost said some aspects of the website-building process are “tedious,” she’s hoping her venture will stand out among the endless sea of cooking and lifestyle outlets, thanks to some unique and “fun” personal touches. “There’s gonna be this awesome question [section] where people can ask me things straight from the website or they can tweet them at me and we’ll keep them all in a file, whether it’s questions about cooking, relationships, kids,” she told Us. “I don’t care what it is, I’ll answer anything.”
Teigen, who will be headlining the POPSUGAR Play/Ground festival on June 22 and 23 at Pier 94 in New York City along with Issa Rae and Mandy Moore, made it clear to Us that she sees the site as another way for her to connect with her fans, and for her fans to interact with one another and share tips and tricks – cooking-related or otherwise. “We have really amazing ideas and I’m just so excited because I want it to have a chat room and a comment section, and I want people to really feel like they’re a part of the site,” she said. “I don’t want it to feel like it’s some stale site that rarely updates. I want it always to feel new, to feel different. You’re always gonna get some kind of new content and I hope people are really happy with it because it’s been years in the making and it’s coming up soon. I can’t wait.”
Furthermore, visitors can also expect to see a few familiar faces featured on Teigen’s upcoming online venture, such as her mother, Vilailuck Teigen. “We hope to get a lot of videos up, a lot of video content of my mom,” the Deal or No Deal alum noted. “My mom does crazy things where you can’t really write what she’s doing, you just have to see it for yourself.”
However, fans of Teigen’s best-selling cookbooks will be happy to know that, while there might be some overlap, the content on her site will differ from what has already appeared in Cravings and Cravings: Hungry for More. “I want to elaborate things from the first cookbooks, share more of the story,” said the mother of two. “But I don’t want it just to be about the cookbooks. I want it to be about the future and more recipes that we’re creating.”
That said, the Target cookware collection creator assures Us there are more cookbooks in her future. As she put it: “It’s just basically going to be a never-ending process of creativity.”
Ultimately, Teigen said she just wants “all people to feel happy.” She concluded: “The site will be great because there’s more of story, we can go more into details, we can have videos showing you the best way to do something … I want all those basics to come to life for people in a way we couldn’t show in the book.”
