The Chrissy’s Court host showed her super relatable side amid the coronavirus crisis in April 2020 when her plans to eat healthier were hilariously derailed. “The only thing to get me to not eat this burrito i ordered is to offer me something I pretend is healthy, honey roasted peanuts,” she tweeted. “How many handfuls of HRPs could I have if I replaced my unhealthy steak burrito (rice beans avo sour cream) it would have to be at least 6 to consider.” In a follow-up tweet, Teigen admitted she ended up eating both foods “and a ramen.”

The star jokingly threw some shade at her husband when he answered a social media follower who asked about how to bake salmon so that it has a moist inside but crispy edges. When the Grammy winner replied “broil it,” Teigen had her own retort ready. “Like u f--kin know,” she quipped. “But yeah broil it.”

The star once again made an attempt to barter while in quarantine amid the coronavirus outbreak in April 2020. This time, she was looking for some meat. “I can’t believe I have to do this again but does anyone in LA have some Italian sausages or bratwursts?” she tweeted. However, it appears a trade never took place since Teigen later implied she got what she needed from Eataly.

During a baking binge in March 2020, the star shared her real thoughts on a popular flour substitute that is gluten, grain and nut-free. “The interesting thing about cassava flour is that it sucks terribly,” she quipped.

The star was refreshingly candid about her eating habits during the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. “Every day I say my morning mantra: ‘Tomorrow I will eat healthier,’” she tweeted.

Ahead of the debut of her show Chrissy’s Court in March 2020, the star settled several petty arguments on Twitter. One such disagreement was about the proper way to eat string cheese. “@chrissyteigen there's an ongoing argument in my family as to how you should eat string cheese, should you bite it or string it? #ChrissysCourt,” asked a Twitter user named Anya. “How is this an argument?” Teigen wondered. “Is it called bite cheese or string cheese, Anya?”

While in quarantine during the coronavirus crisis in March 2020, the star found herself in dire need of some salad greens. “I’ll make a banana bread for anyone that has romaine lettuce. The trade will be made 6 feet apart and we will place the goods on the floor,” she tweeted. “No funny business.” Teigen ultimately found someone to take her up on the offer and agreed to make the trade the following day while still abiding by social distancing rules.
Ironically, Teigen put out a similar call for ripe bananas in September 2017, but those were much easier to come by given she wasn’t in quarantine at the time.

The upcoming host of Chrissy’s Court vowed to use her time in quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic to hone some of her skills. “oooo I can finally practice carving fruit,” she tweeted in March 2020.

In March 2020, Legend made his wife a milkshake, but he used a bit of an unconventional method to do it. “John just made me a milkshake without a machine. Like used a spoon to stir it fast? I told him this was wrong. It’s wrong right? It’s nice I got a milkshake but it’s also terrible, a terribly done milkshake?” she tweeted at the time. Though the Grammy winner justified his method by saying that he liked his milkshakes prepared that way, Teigen wasn’t convinced. “I said well, ‘this is not a milk shake,’ she shared in a follow-up tweet. “It needs to be smooth and whipped with a machine. It’s like saying I love lasagna without noodles, this is how I prefer it. Cool but that’s not lasagna.”

The cookware designer is a tough food critic, so when one of her go-to L.A. spots started whipping up mediocre food, she tweeted about it. “My favorite burrito stand has really gone to shit since they opened more locations,” she wrote in February 2020. “I will never tell them but it makes me so sad. The Cravings website creator anticipated some backlash in November 2019 when her husband, John Legend, was crowned People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” so of course she equated it to a well-known food controversy. “I cannot WAIT for people to get mad about John being the sexiest man alive,” she tweeted at the time. “It's my new Starbucks holiday cup.” The model was referencing the outrage that seemingly erupts every year when the Seattle-based company debuts its festive drinkware. No matter how hard Starbucks tries, the cups can never please everyone.

The star launched her Cravings website in October 2019 and included a recipe section. Less than a week after the site went live, she revealed that she’s been bombarded by fans asking if they’re able to make her dishes in an Instant Pot (a brand of pressure cooker) and she took to Twitter to humorously weigh in. “Every other comment on my site: ‘Can I make this in an Instant Pot?’ and I honestly do not know. I do not work for Instant Pot.” The Deal or No Deal alum then followed up with another tweet, indicating she’d reached her limit with the popular kitchen appliance. “I love u but I am not making every meal and then also testing it for an Instant Pot without Instant Pot donating 5 million dollars to charity.”

After sharing a Twitter thread in November 2019 about how horseradish is the most “criminally underused condiment in America,” Teigen deemed the entire rant “true.” When one follower inquired about a vegan alternative for the flavorful spice, which is a root vegetable, the star had the perfect retort. “Wait, do you think it's horse?” she asked.

Teigen had Halloween on her mind when she waxed poetic about Jolly Ranchers in October 2019. “I feel like candy shouldn’t be bad for you if u suck it,” she declared on Twitter. “What could 10 Jolly melted Rancher juices possibly do?” The star followed that up with details on how she eats the fruit-flavored candies. Her method entails buying the long, flat Jolly Ranchers, breaking them in half in her mouth and then using the heat of the roof of her mouth to form one portion of the treat into a small arch. “Then I use my teeth to make it a candy circle,” she noted. “Like a glassblower of sorts.”

As summer turned to fall in 2019, Teigen became very preoccupied with participating in one of the season’s most popular activities. “Saturday, I was obsessively talking about apple picking. I wouldn't shut up about it - brought it up in random conversations with friends that had nothing to do with apples,” the star tweeted on September 30. “I was insane. Googling farms, sending links to people. Begging, begging anyone to listen to me about apples.” Teigen noted that her demeanor even worried those closest to her. “My friends said they have never seen this kind of passion from me about anything. I don't know what came over me,” she added. “I think I saw one picture of an apple treat and lost my mind. People were worried. it was manic-like behavior.”

In September 2019, Teigen was flying without her children for the first time in several months, and her mind wandered. Without context, and with no follow-up, she tweeted: “Cabbage gotta be one of the most underrated stuffed things.”

Karma apparently got the better of the Bring the Funny judge in August 2019 when she took to social media to announce a change in her eating habits. “Well it is official. After years of making fun of both, I now eat Activia yogurt and drink kombucha,” she tweeted. “Life comes at you fast.”

While a love of sandwiches is nothing new for Teigen, her infatuation with the popular food got a tad out of hand in May 2019. “I got a mean sandwich addiction lately,” she tweeted. “I can be totally full but can’t sleep without my pre-bed sandwich.” The star even involved husband John Legend in her “addiction” and jokingly got angry at him for being an enabler. “This morning I told John do not, under any circumstance, make me a bedtime sandwich, no matter how hard I ask,” she shared on social media. “I asked him for one tonight and he made it. While it WAS delicious, should I be mad??”

By the looks of it, Teigen and Husband John Legend have a picture-perfect marriage, but the star gave her Twitter followers insight into the disagreements she and her man have in a series of tweets in February 2019. As Teigen explained, she was “having a Totino's craving” that entailed a desire for "a pizza from my childhood, with sliced fresh tomatoes on top,” so she tasked Legend with ordering the meal via Postmates. What arrived was a package Totino’s Pizza Rolls, because apparently the “All of Me” singer was unaware the brand also sells actual pizzas. “For 30 minutes we have been discussing how to ensure crispness. I say it needs to be on the rack. He says no it has to go on a pan,” Teigen tweeted, later revealing the rift morphed into an “actual fight.” Concluded Teigen: “He thinks I am so stupid I would think tiny pizza rolls go directly onto the rack.”

Since her love of food is so well-known, it’s not unusual for other celebs to call on Teigen when they have food-related questions. Case in point: On October 7, 2018 singer Halsey wondered how you can tell when an eggplant is ripe enough and tagged Teigen in her tweet. The fellow star playfully responded, “I’ve never bought, seen or eaten an unripe eggplant. I feel like they’re all the same. Unless you are talking emoji eggplants, those are not all the same.”

Teigen responded to Pod Save America host Jon Lovett’s Twitter question about whether coleslaw is classified as a salad or condiment, like sauerkraut. “No one eats sauerkraut in a pile. That’s not normal. Sauerkraut goes on things,” she argued on August 27, 2018. “Coleslaw is a side and a salad. Things can be two things at once! Except sauerkraut. That is one thing. A condiment!”

Despite having written cookbooks, Teigen still has a bit to learn about certain foods. In late August 2018, she shared an Instagram Story during which she thought of the idea for edible produce stickers. The Twitterverse then convinced her they are edible, so she proceeded to swallow one, naturally. As Teigen later found out, though produce stickers won’t harm you, it’s probably not a great idea to ingest them on purpose. “Kudos, you got me to eat a sticker,” she quipped.

Though a bit late to the quinoa craze, Teigen discovered the ancient grain on a trip to Bali in August 2018 and was quick (albeit somewhat reluctant) to admit she’s now a fan. “An update on my life: I enjoy quinoa now,” she wrote in a series of tweets shared on August 14. “I like to get crazy and put soy sauce on it, sometimes avocado and a poached egg.”

Though the Cravings author loves food, she had a bone to pick with wedge salads. “Wedge salads are the biggest trick restaurants have ever pulled on us,” she tweeted on August 22, 2018. “Yes hello I will cut the salad, you guys just relax back there.”
She continued that despite her beef with wedge salads, they still hold a place in her heart. “That being said, I'm eating one right now,” she admitted. “Take my money.

When Gabrielle Union shared that she was craving a cinnamon roll on August 11, 2018, Teigen was quick to offer some sweets. And advice. “I make 10 trays of 9 of these every year for Christmas! Adding you to this list! Please hold your craving,” she wrote the following day. “OR - if you are in LA, Postmates delivers Cinnabon. (I’ve done this 3 times, great in microwave, ask for extra icing.)”

Like much of the world, Teigen caught World Cup fever in July 2018, and decided to host a food-related party centered around the sporting event. “I’m having a World Cup brunch party for the big game, with food from both countries...CROATIAN CUISINE VS FRENCH / BELGIAN - where my Croatian's at! Any recommendations welcome,” she tweeted on July 11, 2018.

Tiegen is well aware her love of white chocolate isn’t shared by many, but she still has a soft spot for the sweet treat. “White chocolate isn't chocolate but I love it. Teigen was just as confused as the rest of the world when IHOP briefly changed its name to IHOb and began focusing on burgers, and she didn’t let the misstep go without sneaking in a dig.
