It sounds like Princess Charlotte is a foodie in the making! The 3-year-old’s mom, Duchess Kate, let it spill during a visit to the Lavender Primary School in Enfield Town, England, on Tuesday, February 5, that her only daughter has quite the sophisticated palate.
According to the royal, who is also mom of Prince George, 5, and Prince Louis, 9 months, her middle child has a fondness for salty, briny foods. “Charlotte loves olives,” Duchess Kate, 37, revealed, according to AOL.
Kate was on hand to spend time with the young students as part of Place2Be’s #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek. The organization, which is one of the duchess’ royal patronages, is dedicated to providing mental health support to school-aged children.
The proud mom, who brought a family picture with her to the event, understands how food, cooking and mental health can go hand-in-hand. “It’s interesting how food and energy and how you feel work together,” she reportedly told the youngsters. “It’s amazing the connection between physical and mental well-being.”

The University of St Andrews grad also revealed that her kids love to help out in the kitchen. “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her,” Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of the Ivy Learning Trust, told reporters. “They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”
Another royal favorite? Pizza. Though Kate recently admitted she wasn’t sure if Queen Elizabeth II had ever tried the Italian staple, she revealed that it’s on the menu quite frequently for her, Prince William, 36, and their little ones. “I think they’re some of the best things to make, pizzas at home,” the duchess said while making pizzas with children at London’s King Henry’s Walk Garden in January. “It’s such fun, you can choose what you can put on them – all the different toppings.”
What’s more? It appears Charlotte may have inherited her love of savory foods from her royal mom. During the pizza-making session, Kate explained that she’s partial to putting bacon on her pies. “I quite like that,” she told the young chefs. “Or some other meat. It’s like having pepperoni but it’s not as spicy.”
