Looks like Kim Kardashian has always had a soft spot for cake! The Keeping Up With the Kardashians cast member took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 5, to share a sweet blast from the past.
The reality star was “going through her storage facility” when she stumbled upon an album of photographs from her sweet 16. On the first page of the collection of pics, which Kardashian, 38, labeled “Kimberly’s Sweet 16 October 26, 1996,” is a trio of photos. One of the snapshots appears to be of a floral centerpiece, while the other two are of the KKW Beauty founder’s birthday confection.
“We even had our Hansen’s Cakes back then,” Kardashian explained, implying the dessert was purchased from the Los Angeles bakery chain. The sweet treat, which was on the small side, appears to be topped with a colorful array of green, white and lavender flowers. It also featured a heart personalized for the birthday girl.
The album also contained photos of a young Kim and sister Kourtney Kardashian with a bevy of childhood friends.
As it turns out, though their cakes might be a bit more elaborate these days, the Kardashian family members are still loyal Hansen’s customers. According to the bakery’s Instagram account, True Thompson’s butterfly-themed 1st birthday cake and Rob Kardashian’s St. Patrick’s Day birthday cake from March 2019 are all Hansen’s creations. One of the bakery’s desserts was even featured on a recent episode of KUWTK, when Kim surprised mom Kris Jenner with her favorite black and white Hansen’s dessert.
Furthermore, during Kim’s birthday special that aired on E! in October 2018, she said that Hansen’s is “definitely” her favorite cake. More specifically, the aspiring lawyer loves a vanilla cake with chocolate chip filling. “It’s like chocolate with little chocolate chips, and it is the best cake ever,” she declared.
Elsewhere on the food front, Kim got a special delivery from Jelly Belly that included dozens of jelly beans. “I hope Saint doesn’t see these because he’s addicted to jelly beans,” the California native said of her older son, 3. Kim is also mom of North, 5, Chicago, 16 months, and Psalm, 1 month, with husband Kanye West.
The Jelly Belly care package also included temporary tattoos featuring sketches of Kim and friend Chrissy Teigen posing together. “Chrissy are you going to put this tattoo all over your body?” Kim asked. “I might put this on my face. Who’s ready for a Kim and Chrissy face tat?”
