Red Bull gives you wings, and for Lucy Hale, the energy drink also doubles as a zit zapper!
The actress shared an Instagram Story on Wednesday, September 5, during which she included a snapshot of herself seemingly lying in bed and holding a can of Red Bull to her cheek. “Icing zits w Red Bull before bed,” she captioned the shot.
Even though the Pretty Little Liars alum didn’t provide much additional context for her unusual acne remedy, she did encourage her follows to give it a shot. “Try it. Love It,” she added, indicating the surprising trick has been helpful for her.
Hale, 29, has been open about her struggles with acne in the past. In 2017, she told Byrdie, “The day I turned 21, my skin just went nuts,” and added that her skin routine now consists of several steps, including double-cleansing, “a ton of serums” and routine facials. The Red Bull, apparently, comes later.
The Scream 4 star also told the publication that managing her stress has been key in keeping her hormonal acne in check. In fact, one way she stays calm is by exercising regularly. “[SoulCycle] is amazing. Emotionally, there are a couple of teachers that have made me cry,” she explained. “I think it’s really important to take care of your mind.”
Believe it or not, Hale is hardly the only celeb with an unorthodox acne remedy. Model Gigi Hadid has said she uses toothpaste to treat her breakouts, and, in keeping with the food theme, SZA has been open about how honey masks have been crucial in clearing up her problematic skin.
