Postmates delivered from more than 200,000 restaurants in the United States and Mexico between January and December 2018, and now the popular delivery app is unveiling a year’s worth of interesting data. Not surprisingly, certain trends emerged around various holidays and national events, and while some are humorous, others are downright strange.

For example, it should come as no surprise that orders of alcohol spiked 164 percent on New Year’s Eve 2017 or that hundreds of orders for Tylenol, Advil, and Pedialyte were placed on New Year’s Day. It also shouldn’t be all that shocking that orders from Buffalo Wild Wings tripled on February 4 – a.k.a. Super Bowl Sunday – but who would have guessed that interest in Russian food would spike in May, when President Donald Trump hired Bill Clinton’s impeachment lawyer, and peaked in November, election month?

What’s more? Postmates also revealed that April 20th (4/20) saw a significant spike for munchie-friendly foods such as fries, shakes, cheese sticks and chicken nuggets, which were ordered more on the marijuana-centric “holiday” than any other day of the year.

Speaking of holidays, Postmates customers celebrated America’s birth on July 4 by placing more orders for bags of ice, Shake Shack hot dogs and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream pints than any other day of the year. Apparently having your own BBQ is so 2017.

And since Postmates isn’t perfect, the company was also refreshingly candid when discussing a hilarious mistake involving Chrissy Teigen. The Cravings author placed an order for five limes on March 17, but the company over delivered and accidentally brought the 33-year-old five bags with a whopping 200 limes instead. Thankfully the Lip Sync Battle cohost took the faux pas in stride and later shared photos of the three delicious lime pies she made.

Geographically speaking, Postmates was also able to track the most popular food items from places that only exist in specific cities. In Los Angeles, celeb-friendly Joan’s on Third took the top spot with its Chinese chicken salad, while New Yorkers were partial to the cottage fries from J.G. Melon – a Gigi Hadid favorite!
