Rosie O’Donnell Calls ‘Below Deck’ Chef Mila Kolomeitseva ‘the Worst,’: ‘I Can Do Better’

Chrissy Teigen isn’t the only one who doesn’t like new Below Deck Mediterranean chef Mila Kolomeitseva. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Monday, June 24, Rosie O’Donnell, who was on the late-night talk show with BDM yacht captain Sandy Yawn, had some choice words for the controversial cook.

O’Donnell, 57, called Mila “the worst” and slammed her cooking as well. As the former View cohost declared: “I can do better.”

O’Donnell also suggested it was time for the chef to get fired. Sandy, who intimated there is more to come in the saga of the yacht chef who can’t actually cook, told the SMILF star to continue watching this season of the show.

Mila has been marred in controversy since joining the Bravo staple as part of its fourth (and current) season. On the first charter of the season, she licked raw beef that she went on to feed to high-paying guests, and later microwaved those same steaks in an effort to keep them warm.

During subsequent charters, she was unable to make pancakes for breakfast and baked an inedible cake for a guest’s birthday. In fact, Mila’s cooking was so sub-par that a fellow crew member eventually had to step in and take control of the galley.

Outside of the kitchen, Mila’s behavior is just as divisive. En route to a night out, she was called a “classic Russian homophobe” by deckhand Travis Michalzik, after criticizing his nose ring and asking if another crew member, Jack Stirrup, was gay.

The Serbian-born culinary professional was proud to be referred to as a homophobe. “I don’t want to see a man kissing a man in front of me,” she explained. “In your home, you guys can do whatever you want.”

She added: “I don’t want my son to be growing up and seeing two men kissing each other and thinking this is normal, because this is not f––king normal.

That was enough to warrant a response from Teigen, 33, who tweeted earlier this month: ““Wowwwww I was hesitant to talk shit about the chef’s cooking on Below Deck because I didn’t wanna be a jerkhole but then it got to the end and turns out she is also a terrible person.”

At the time, a source close to production told Us Weekly that viewers hadn’t seen the last of Mila just yet. “This is only the beginning and more will play out with Mila this season,” the insider noted.

While on WWHL, host Andy Cohen gave Sandy a chance to weigh in on her employee’s homophobic comments, which she hadn’t seen until they aired on the show. “I would have pulled her aside and talked to her,” the yacht captain said. “However, she’s there to do a job. I don’t bring social biases into it.”

Added Sandy, who identifies as a lesbian: “I don’t know what Russia is like to grow up in, I have no idea. But do I agree with her? Absolutely not. Her opinion of me doesn’t matter, because I would have to care about that person for me to care.”
