Pickle-flavored sno-cones have been around for some time, and Sonic even released a pickle-flavored Slush back in June, but now one Louisiana-based company is changing the game with its sno-cone-flavored pickles. Yes, you read that right!
SnoCo Pickles sells flavored dill pickle snack packs inspired by two well-known southern traditions – sno-cones and Kool-Aid-soaked pickles known as Koolicles – and, despite how unappealing they may sound, the seasonal treats are gaining popularity on Amazon, where they are sold.
With an average three-and-a-half star rating, SnoCo’s unique snacks have several fans. As one wrote, “I have purchased these for several parties and it was a hit all three times.”
Added another SnoCo supporter on Facebook, “I received my order today and they are delicious. Can’t wait to order more.”
Still, others weren’t as sold on this odd hybrid food, which is available in an array of flavors including mango, raspberry and orange cream soda. While one Amazon user called the pickles “good,” he also added that he “could not really taste the flavoring.”
Said another Amazon customer: “I love all kinds of pickles … but for some reason these were not a hit for me. They were a bit too sweet and I wound up not finishing them.”
A 12-flavor bundle retails for $21.99, but if you’re partial to one variety of sno-cone flavored pickle, SnoCo also sells most of its flavors in individual 17-oz. jars.
What’s more? The brand actually makes its products without unhealthy high-fructose corn syrup. Instead, SnoCo uses 100 percent pure cane sugar in order to sweeten its interesting eats.
