Tom Sandoval Shares Recipe for ‘Savory and Sweet’ Cocktail From Tom Tom

Tom Sandoval is showing off his bartending chops! The Vanderpump Rules star, who owns a bar called Tom Tom with costar Tom Schwartz and bosses Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, shared a cocktail recipe exclusively with Us Weekly that you are going to want to replicate at home.

The drink, which is called the Doc Holiday, is currently on the menu at Tom Tom. As the 35-year-old Bravo star told Us, the libation features an unusual (but tasty!) array of ingredients including red bell pepper, mint leaves, agave nectar, tequila and guava juice.

“I wanted to sort of mix savory and sweet,” Sandoval noted of the cocktail. “Then eventually get married and walk off in the sunset with tequila and guava.”

Though the bar owner is the first to admit that the ingredients in a Doc Holiday are “not a mix that you think would go well together,” he knows firsthand that the drink, which he tested at least 15 times before giving it a spot on the Tom Tom menu “actually works really well.”

“A lot of times when it comes to pairing certain ingredients, you can’t think of the ingredient as a whole,” he explained to Us. “You have to kind of break down its different flavors.”

Still, even though he certainly knows his way behind a bar, Sandoval isn’t one to wing it and nix measuring ingredients, especially when it comes to whipping up a Doc Holiday. “I think it’s better to measure,” he said. “Anytime you’re dealing with lemon juice or lime juice, a little bit off can really change the flavor.”

While this drink is served straight up at Tom Tom, Sandoval said it’s totally fine to pour it over ice if that’s what you prefer. He also noted that grapefruit juice can be used in place of guava juice, and mentioned that the Doc Holiday can “definitely” be made as a batch cocktail with some minor adjustments.
