For the Chicago-based restaurateur behind celeb-favorite establishments such as Sunda and Underground, sweetness is key. “My favorite cheat day food is Sunda’s tempura French toast, which is a borderline dessert,” he tells Us. “We take French toast and amplify it by deep frying it so that it is super crispy, then top it with a brown sugar glaze, bananas, berries and whipped cream.” Dec adds the dish is “kind of like a breakfast sundae.”
