“Knowing what I know now, I feel that we were completely blindsided, and all my doubts came into fruition,” Chuk, 27, exclusively shared with Us after being eliminated from the CBS reality show on Thursday, August 13. “My doubts about everyone came into fruition.”

The Dallas native said he had plenty of concerns about fellow houseguest Kamu Kirk. Once his competitor chose not to use the Power of Veto on him, Chuk knew he was in serious trouble.

“It’s a lot to process because it’s like, how can your people turn their backs?” he asked. “But it’s the game, and people need to play the game, and that’s what they do.”

When looking back on his decision to pick Kamu, 32, as his partner for the Power of Veto competition, Chuk now believes it was “the worst decision I possibly could have made.”

“I truly am someone to where I stay loyal to my people. Kamu was a beast of a competitor, so I knew he was going to go into Veto and potentially win it,” he said. “And look what he did, right? And I knew I should have chosen Yash [Patel] because I knew Yash has a little bit more loyalty to just the fact that yo, you’re my boy.”

Before Chuk was evicted from the Big Brother house after 38 days, fellow houseguest Taylor Brown tried to give him advice — or as she described it as “Big Brother for dummies” in the Diary Room — on how to campaign for votes and stay another week.

After leaving the show, Chuk is the first to own the fact that he wasn’t receptive to her words of wisdom.

“I didn’t listen to it because of me being Chuk. I could not listen to someone who’s been on the block twice and to someone who’s come to me for that exact same [thing], you know, advice,” he said. “Well, not advice, but wanting me to campaign for them and campaign to a few of the people I’m working with for them because they couldn’t do it.”

The supply chain analyst continued, “I kind of deemed her as someone who truly is just not a strong competitor. I could not take advice from someone who wasn’t a strong competitor and someone who socially, you know, people kind of walked on eggshells around.”

Before Chuk watches the rest of the season unfold, he appears to have no regrets about his experience filming CBS’ summer hit.

“There was nothing I could have said because Kamu had so much influence in that house to sway their minds,” he shared. “There was nothing I truly could have said to change people’s minds.”

The online exchange began on Monday, August 10, when a Big Brother fan compared current houseguest Haley Thogmartin to Janelle.

“Haley isn’t wrong calling herself Janelle cause if season six of BB aired TODAY yall would HATE Janelle who is also MAGA…. #BB28,” the user wrote via X.

Hours later, Janelle saw the post and responded to the fan’s assumption.

“Stop labeling everyone MAGA just to create hate. Since you like spreading lies about people let me clear some things up,” the four-time player wrote via X. “I’m politically independent. Socially very liberal, fiscally conservative, and anti-big-government. Pro-choice. Pro-LGBTQ rights. Pro-individual freedom. Lower taxes, less government waste, controlled immigration, and no foreign wars. I don’t need every one of my beliefs to fit neatly into a political party.”

Janelle further argued that compared to when she first played Big Brother in 2005, everyone would be considered conservative in today’s political landscape.

“By today’s standards everyone from BB6 would be labeled MAGA by Twitter,” she continued. “There are several people from BB6 that would have been kicked out for saying the N word, none of them were from my alliance. So basically go f*** yourself and stop spreading lies. 🖕”

Janelle made her Big Brother debut in season 6, going on to become an instant fan favorite. She was a member of the underdog Sovereign Six alliance alongside Kaysar Ridha, Howie Gordon, Rachel Plencner, James Rhine and Sarah Hrejsa, whose goal was to unite against the remaining members of the house.

The realtor proved herself to be a challenge beast after winning multiple competitions to ensure her continuation in the competition. Janelle ultimately came in third place behind runner up Ivette Corredero and winner Maggie Ausburn.

The following season, Janelle returned to the Big Brother house to compete in its inaugural all-star season. During Big Brother 7, Janelle set the record for most individual competitions won in a single season with a total of nine wins. Despite her challenge prowess, Janelle came in third place for a second time, but she did take home the title of America’s Favorite Player.

Janelle came back to the Big Brother house in season 14 as a coach alongside Mike “Boogie” Malin, Dan Gheesling and Britney Haynes. A twist later led the coaches to become players in the game. She finished in 12th place.

In 2020, Janelle came back for the second all-stars season alongside season 6 pal Kaysar. The duo were targeted early and Janelle was evicted during the third week of the competition.

Janelle has not played Big Brother since. However, she has been an active viewer and has shared her thoughts on the season and players via her social media channels.

The tradition began during season 8 when Jen Johnson secured the prize of wearing a red unitard for one week. Jen took the punishment with grace and actually made the full bright red bodysuit look chic.

After the positive reception of Jen’s participation in the punishment, the unitard returned the following season. The unitard has continued to grace our screens every summer and has evolved over time with even more elaborate designs.

As players become used to the idea of one day wearing a unitard, Big Brother upped the ante. In recent seasons, the costume department has gone the extra mile with even more creative wearable punishments.

Unitards

There have been many reiterations of the classic costume including former winners Jordan Lylod’s cute “Humtilard” and Nicole Franzel’s adorable “Super Safety” unitard costume. Season 20 winner Kaycee Clark also rocked the “Health Nut-itard.” During the second all-star season, Janelle Pierzina looked utterly adorable in the All-Star Mascot costume which featured a gold unitard and bright yellow star outfit to wear on top.

Adam and Eve

Things got biblical in Big Brother 16 when houseguests Caleb Reynolds and Victoria Rafael received the Adam and Eve punishment. Not only did the pair have to wear bright green leaves to cover themselves, they were tethered together for 48 hours.

Big Brother brought back the costume in season 28 as part of the BB Time Capsule. Mallory Aurichio landed on the punishment instead of a power and picked her bestie Melody Morris to be her partner.

The Whackstreet Boys

Nothing was more iconic that season 17’s parody boy band. For an entire week, Johnny Mac, Liz Nolan and Jason Roy dressed in matching white outfits that mimicked the Backstreet Boys’ Millennium album cover. In addition to looking like certified pop stars, the trio had to perform multiple songs and dance numbers.

The ‘Big Brother’ Robot

The reality series’ wildest punishment to date occurred in season 20. During the first week of the game, a twist placed houseguest Sam Bledsoe inside a robot. She was replaced in the house by a robot which she operated behind-the-scenes in a secluded room.

The houseguests could not see her as the robot’s screen was a simple — and cute — smiley face. However, she could communicate through the device’s speakers. Robot Sam has to wheel around the house and even inside the diary room. After the first eviction, real-life Sam returned to the game to play in person.

The Lord of the Latrine

Derek Xiao received the Lord of the Latrine punishment in Big Brother 23. While rocking a regal outfit, Derek was tasked with personally tending the bathroom for multiple days. Anytime a houseguest needed to use the facilities, Derek had to unlock the door, blow a horn and announce it to the entire house.

Kayak Companions

During season 25, Felicia Cannon received the Kayak Companions punishment after losing the veto competition and she chose ally Cirie Fields to accompany her. The pair were tethered together for 48 hours in a modified kayak. They donned life jackets and helmets and had paddles to navigate around the house. Anytime Felicia or Cirie needed to use the restroom, they had to lay down towels to “dock” their kayak.

The Hard Boiled Detective

The Hard Boiled Detective made its on-screen debut during Big Brother 27. After losing the veto competition, Vince Panaro was given the punishment, which was an oversized egg-shaped costume dressed up in a detective’s outfit with a giant magnifying glass. He wore the outfit for one whole week.

The costume made its return one season later when Angela Murray received the punishment after going into the BB Time Capsule.

“You know what’s interesting, because I knew that Rome wanted me to be strong and to win the game, and he told me the night before he left. He said, ‘Lyric, I want you to fight, and you can go far in this game. Rely on the guys to protect you. They will,’” the lawyer, 25, exclusively told Us on Friday, August 7, following her eviction from the hit reality series. “And so that’s exactly what I did.”

Lyric explained she always had a “good relationship” with both Chuk Anyanwu and Kamu Kirk. However, she never got the chance to start talking about the game with them until Rome, 28, was evicted. Rome and Lyric began their showmance almost instantly, and the couple’s feelings developed quickly as they exchanged “I love yous.” Rome was evicted in the second week of the competition.

When Lyric started buddying up with Chuk, 27, and Kamu, 32, after Rome’s departure, Drew, 22, apparently made a remark about it.

“Drew made comments to me that night when Rome left. He said, ‘Wow, Rome left, and you’re already running around with Chuk,’ and then he called me a homie hopper,” she claimed. “He said these things, and I was thinking to myself, I’m like, ‘Hmm, that’s not very nice.’”

Lyric confessed she was “a little taken back” by Drew’s comment, but she tried to play it off like a joke.

“In that house, you have to bite your tongue because it will always come back to you,” she told Us. “So when he said that to me, I was laughing it off, like, ‘Oh, that’s so funny.’ But in my head, I’m thinking, ‘The moment I’m HoH, I’m putting you up.’”

Lyric also shared that she told fellow houseguest Yash Patel about Drew’s alleged remark, which led to an eventual apology.

“I told Yash, I was like, ‘Oh, that’s not so nice that he’s saying those things, because I want to play this game.’ And from a game standpoint, it was good that Rome left … because then people can’t use me as a pawn to put me up to get at Rome, and I can kind of start my own game,” she recalled. “And Yash told Drew like, ‘Hey, that wasn’t cool,’ I guess. And Drew the next day came and apologized to me for saying the homie hopper [remark] and things like that.”

Though Lyric did get close to Chuk, Kamu and Yash, 24, after Rome left, her feelings for the pickleball coach were still going strong.

“I truly am so in love with him, and I know that sounds crazy for only knowing him for two weeks, but when you know, you know,” she gushed of Rome. “We had so many conversations in the house from the minute we got in there. We talked about family. We talked about our parents being together for over 28 years for me and over 30 years for him, and so, we immediately knew that we had the same values. When you’re in the Big Brother house, when you find someone who you can trust and who you feel safe with, someone who makes you feel like you’re at home because you have no contact with your family, you hold on to that person and you hold them tight. And I felt that way immediately with Rome.”

Now that she and Rome are both out of the Big Brother house, Lyric is looking forward to reconnecting with him as soon as she can.

“I was thinking this past week, I’m like, ‘The one thing that’s getting me through is talking to my mom and talking to Rome.’ I can’t wait to tell him how much I love him when I get my phone,” she told Us. “I can’t wait to FaceTime him, and hopefully he hasn’t found a beautiful, gorgeous girl outside … I hope that he’s waiting for me. That was our understanding on the way out, and so, I’m not too far behind.”

Lyric added that she hoped Rome was “still waiting for” her and he’ll be able to join her in her native Hawaii “ASAP.”

“I hope he’s waiting for me in Hawaii. That’d be so nice,” she said. “I can’t wait to see him and just be in his arms again, because I slept with his hoodie literally every single night and it still smelled like him. And that was the one thing that got me to go to sleep at night.”

“Frankie Grande, tell your sister to hit me up!” Kamu Kirk said while casting his vote for eviction on the Thursday, August 6, live show.

Frankie, 43, competed on Big Brother season 16 in 2014 and is the proud older brother of Ariana, 33.

“Not a f***ing chance Kamu,” Frankie wrote via X, sharing a selfie from the crowd at his sister’s Eternal Sunshine Tour concert that night. “You can eat my ass.”

In response, a social media user called out the Broadway performer for giving Kamu, 32, “attention” by replying in the first place.

“He hasn’t seen anything cause he’s … in the house. Are you … OK?” Frankie quipped.

Earlier this season, Frankie condemned Kamu for his anti-drag comments.

“Um. What the f*** is this horses***?! Get these homophobic bigots out of the f***ing house IMMEDIATELY. Both of them,” Frankie tweeted last month. “Ew this conversation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m disgusted. This better be the biggest thing ever when I wake up tomorrow or I’m flipping a table… f***. Ew. Gross.”

In the footage, Kamu and fellow houseguest Rick Devens reacted to their alliance member Drew Campbell’s unicorn-themed pajamas. When Devens, 42, asked Kamu whether “those dudes dressed in women’s clothes,” his costar responded affirmatively.

“I’m not doing that, bro,” Kamu claimed, noting that he wouldn’t participate until Jason De Puy won a Head of Household competition. (Outside of the Big Brother house, Jason, 35, is a professional drag queen known as Salina EsTitties.)

He added, “I said, ‘Bro, miss me with the drag stuff.’ I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold.”

Frankie later said in a follow-up X post that it was a “mistake” to get involved in the drama.

“After leaving the show and getting sober, I’ve been nothing but an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community,” he tweeted. “So seeing things like that and seeing people in the house that are definitely homophobic is just hard for me. “It always is. And I should not engage on X.”

As for Ariana, she has not publicly addressed the Big Brother shout-out. The Oscar nominee is currently closing out her Eternal Sunshine Tour before taking a “break” from the spotlight.

“It is something that I had decided, a plan I had quietly made a long time ago, and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place,” Ariana said during her Monday, August 3, concert. “No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or not as real to me than this love that we share and how it feels to make art with people that I love and respect. Absolutely nothing will change that.”

“I am not surprised she’s doing well. If there’s one thing she knows how to do, it’s play games on TV and outside of TV,” Johnny, 44, exclusively shared with Us on Monday, August 3 when promoting The Challenge: Cutthroat. “So no, I am not surprised at all with how well she’s doing.”

Last summer, viewers watched Johnny and Dee, 29, form a showmance on The Challenge: Vets and New Threats. The unexpected fling turned out to be more strategic than a serious long-term relationship after Johnny was eliminated weeks earlier than Dee.

“I wish her all the best,” Johnny explained. “But I also wish all the guys in that house all the best as well.”

Although Michelle Fitzgerald wasn’t part of that specific season, Johnny’s answer left her quite a bit shook.

“So what you’re saying is it ended well,” she sarcastically said.

Johnny replied, “What I’m saying is it ended like I felt like I was on a reality television show. I’m like, ‘I don’t see cameras around here anymore. We’re not trying to out-manipulate and out-scumbag each other, but apparently I’m the only one that got that memo.’”

This season on The Challenge, Johnny and 23 other contestants will live in a beautiful Thailand villa and be divided into three teams chosen by three captains. The teams are permanent and the only way to take home a share of the $500,000 cash prize in the end is to cross the finish line together as a unit.

While Johnny is hoping to make it to the finals this summer, Dee is trapped in the Big Brother house with a group of fellow season 28 contestants, including Survivor alum Rick Devens and Big Brother alum Angela Murray.

‘Big Brother’ Showmances Through the Years: Where Are the Couples Now?

Although Dee’s game isn’t impressing Johnny very much, host Julie Chen Moonves previously told Entertainment Weekly that she likes what she sees in the first few weeks.

“You know, I was kind of against two former Survivors coming in, and now I find myself pulling for Dee because she gets it,” she told the publication on July 16. “I’m surprised how little Rick Devens gets this game and how much Dee gets it and got it right away.”

“I wish you gave me a heads up,” Drew, 22, tells Haley, 29, in Us’ exclusive first look at the Wednesday, August 5, episode of the hit CBS reality series.

After winning the HoH competition, Haley ultimately nominated Drew, Melody Morris and Taylor Brown for eviction. Haley, who is in an alliance with Drew, lets him know that she “didn’t have the chance” to speak to him before she made her decision. The telemedicine executive adds that Drew has nothing to worry about.

“You have both sides of the house,” she tells him. “You are not the target.”

Big Brother 28’s Jason Says He Could Tell Drag Made Kamu ‘Uncomfortable’

Haley’s face-to-face conversation with Drew, however, is in staunch contrast to her actual feelings.

“Drew, I know you feel burned by us and especially me,” she says in her diary room confessional. “However, I’m doing everything in my power to make sure he’s still good but he should be worried.”

To Drew’s face, Haley reiterates that the move “helps” everyone in their alliance. Drew and Haley are in the Toolshed Alliance alongside Kamu Kirk, Chuk Anyanwu, Dee Valladares, Rick Devens, Angela Murray and Barrett Pfeiffer.

In the first look, Drew asks Haley who she considers to be her actual target: Melody or Taylor.

“I truly think they’re both equal,” she says to Drew, who is not jazzed about the response since he has a close connection to Melody.

Drew tells Haley that he is going to try his best to win the Power of Veto, but he ultimately wanted to check in and see if that would put her “in a bad position” if she is forced to nominate another person.

“No. It puts us in a position so it doesn’t look like we’re all working together,” she tells Drew, noting that if she wins she “probably won’t use it.”

In his confessional, Drew reveals he partially believes what Haley is telling him — but he remains suspicious of her intentions.

“At the end of the day I do believe that Haley is using me as a pawn, but at the same time I don’t think this is a completely innocent move from Haley,” he tells the camera. “Because if Melody leaves, this could totally weaken my game and I think she’s doing it on purpose.”

As Drew and Haley’s chat winds down, he raises his hands up in defeat.

I believe you and I trust you that I am the pawn,” he hesitantly says and Haley reiterates, “You are the pawn. You are my pawn, 100 percent.”

Haley apologizes to Drew for putting him in this position and Drew shares that he hopes his bond with alliance members is genuine.

Big Brother 28’s Rome Teases Post-Game Romance With Lyric After Her Vote

“Hopefully you guys like me enough as much as I hope you do,” he says.

In his confessional, Drew doubles down on how important it is for him or Melody to try to win the Veto so they don’t have to face off during eviction night.

“All I know is that I have to win this veto or Melody because the worst case scenario is us facing off against each other in the BB Blockbuster,” he says.

The Veto competition will air on Wednesday night and features Big Brother 27 alum Morgan Pope as the host. The eviction will follow on Thursday. August 6.

“I love living here in Colorado. This is the best place to raise your kids,” Jordan, 39, exclusively told Us on July 31 when celebrating the success of her “Togethermess” podcast with Jeff, 48. “It’s the best place. When we first moved here, we didn’t know anything about Colorado. I couldn’t believe how much there was to do when the kids are little.”

Jeff and Jordan — who share two sons — first met on season 11 of Big Brother in 2009. They went on to compete on The Amazing Race and married in March 2016.

While the couple have their fond memories of life in the Hollywood spotlight, Colorado turned out to be the perfect place to raise their boys.

Jeff added, “Everyone who comes to visit us, when they see the kids outside, they say, ‘When I pull up, I get so jealous.’ Some of my friends in Los Angeles come and go, ‘This doesn’t happen in Los Angeles.’ I like that we’re raising our kids the old school way.”

While viewers are used to seeing showmances blossom inside the Big Brother house each and every summer, Jeff and Jordan arguably exceeded fans’ expectations when they celebrated 10 years of marriage.

When asked to share their secrets to finding a lasting love in front of the reality TV cameras, both parties acknowledge they are in a unique situation.

“Within six months, we went through all the trials and tribulations people go through in a 10-year span, and we made it through the other side,” Jeff said when reflecting on the pair’s time filming Big Brother and The Amazing Race back-to-back. “I knew that nothing would ever break that bond that we formed so early in our relationship.”

While Jeff credits laughter and communication as the keys to a successful marriage, Jordan also said sex and not being in competition with each other is important.

“There was never any jealousy between us. Like, ‘Oh, well, look what you’ve done in your career, and I’m not here, and I’m taking care of the kids,’” she said. “It’s always been, like, ‘You go do your dreams. You go make your stuff happen.’”

This summer, Jeff and Jordan are working together on a variety of exciting projects. In addition to their “Togethermess” podcast, the pair are recapping Big Brother episodes on Jeff and Jordan TV YouTube with a new digital show called “Couch Jury.”

The network’s schedule for fall 2026 includes episodes from nearly every returning show — plus some new additions. There are some absences, however, with Ghosts, Matlock and NCIS: Sydney receiving a shakeup by having their premieres moved to midseason 2027. They will join the new show Einstein, which is finally premiering in 2027 as well.

Matlock‘s time slot will be given to Elsbeth to allow Cupertino to premiere on the same night. NCIS: Sydney, meanwhile, is moving to midseason as NCIS: Origins — which received a shorter episode order — takes over to pair off with NCIS: New York.

“I asked for it [to be pushed] with the network. We had a talk,” Matlock creator Jennie Snyder Urman told TV Insider in April 2026 ahead of the second season finale. “I just feel like we had so much stuff to think about because we really landed the plane on this, and we really thought that was important because we didn’t want to keep dragging out the same story, and the characters have to get to someplace real emotionally.”

Urman addressed the likelihood viewers will be disappointed, adding, “Sad for audiences, but actually really good for me and the writers because I want us to plot this new mystery and make sure it’s airtight.”

She continued, “We had a lot of pieces going in, so we really had to create this new piece of it. I feel lucky that the network’s giving us time to get it right because I don’t want the quality to drop.”

“For me personally, I could tell that the drag really made him uncomfortable,” Jason, 35, exclusively told Us of Kamu, 32, following the drag queen’s eviction on Thursday, July 30. “And a lot of the times, it wasn’t even because of me. It was Drew [Campbell] parading around the house, holding a pillow, being naked and, like, messing with him.”

Unbeknownst to Jason, Kamu did express his disinterest in participating in dressing up in drag. During a conversation with Rick Devens earlier this month, Kamu declared he would not participate after seeing Drew, 22, wearing a set of unicorn-themed pajamas.

“I said, ‘Bro, miss me with the drag stuff.’ Miss me. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold,” Kamu said. (The MMA fighter did not direct the remarks at Jason.)

Jason, who is also known as the fabulous Salina EsTitties from RuPaul’s Drag Race, added that Kamu’s apparent discomfort with his profession might have put a target on him.

“So I think just the mere idea of a drag queen made him so uncomfortable and it put a target on my back in his eyes,” he explained. “Like, I think it was threatening, even though I myself never put a tinge of makeup on or a wig. Just the idea of me being authentically myself and being this drag queen, I think, was so threatening to him.”

In addition to having a difference in opinions on drag, Jason and Kamu found themselves at odds during the athlete’s Head of Household reign. Kamu planned to backdoor Jason to maximize his chances of not earning safety. Jason was picked to play in the veto competition but ultimately lost to nominee Mallory Aurichio.

Ahead of the veto ceremony, the houseguests held a tea party. The get-together turned dramatic as Kamu took the opportunity to call out Jason for playing a messy game. The pair went back and forth during a heated argument.

“It was a big moment for me to stand up for myself, which I never do in my real life. So there was a sense of pride that I had being alone out there,” Jason told Us about the tea party incident. “The entire cast was sitting in a circle, all with their heads down, and none of them had anything to say. None of them jump to my defense, which, understandably for their game, I get that. But it was very clear I was out here, you know, rocking by myself.”

Jason knew he was in danger as he ended up becoming the replacement nominee. With nothing left to lose, Jason decided to take it a step further by banging a tea pot whenever he had gossip to relay to Kamu.

“I truly had nobody ultimately; that’s why I was willing to go crazy with the tea pot. That’s why I was throwing it balls to the wall,” he reflected. “It kind of sucked, but I don’t know. I wasn’t gonna go down without swinging.”

Jason was ultimately evicted on Thursday in a unanimous vote. While fans were disappointed that Salina never got to make an appearance on Big Brother, there could have been one instance where Jason would have done “full drag” for his housemates.

“I had a whole suitcase. If I won HOH, I got my suitcase. That was the deal we made,” he teased. “And the thing was, I would have been in full drag for the nomination ceremony.”

In the hypothetical situation, Jason shared he would have put up Kamu alongside his allies Chuk Anyanwu and Haley Thogmartin.

“So I would have come down the stairs with the key box,” he told Us. “I would have turned each key, and just like RuPaul’s Drag Race, I would have been just like RuPaul and been like, ‘Kamu, this week you were so threatened by the drag queen, and now look who’s on the block. Haley, that hair, that wig needs to go. There’s only room for one big bob in this house.’ And then Chuk, oh my. I would have read them down in full drag queen fashion, and it would have been so iconic to have a drag queen turn those keys at the nomination ceremony.”

In a recently resurfaced Instagram video from December 2025, Kamu, 32, filmed a person who appeared to be getting arrested. While the unidentified person was shouting, the MMA fighter made a joke about Floyd, who was killed by a Minneapolis police officer in May 2020.

“I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe. Bro thinks he’s George Floyd,” Kamu said in the clip, which has been archived in his Instagram Story highlights.

The video went viral, leading fans and former Big Brother players to slam Kamu for his remarks.

“I just wanted to say that video of Kamu mocking George Floyd is incredibly disappointing,” season 21 alum Kat Dunn wrote via Chat BCC on Thursday, July 30. “I also think the fact that he recorded it as recent as seven months ago and felt proud enough to add it to his ig highlights is just pure weirdo behavior. In fact, I’ve seen enough of Kamu to know that that is not someone I want to associate with in the future.”

Brendon Villegas, who is married to fellow season 12 alum Rachel Reilly, also admitted that Kamu’s remarks were not shocking.

“I really wish this stuff spilled in the house so we could see the discourse,” the reality TV vet wrote in Chat BCC. “When I hear Joe Rogan is your hero, I don’t expect much.”

Quinn Martin, who competed alongside current houseguest Angela Murray on Big Brother 26, quipped, “What happened to background checks?”

Season 27 alum Jimmy Heagerty described the video as “disgusting” and called for Kamu’s removal from the show.

“This goes beyond game,” Jimmy wrote in Chat BCC on Thursday. “Kamu shouldn’t be in that house”

Big Brother 15 winner Andy Herren, whose season was full of controversial houseguests, agreed that Kamu’s video was “extremely disgusting but not shocking.”

“People gave me a lot of s*** for not speaking out more on my season, so I’ve truly done my best to speak up after,” he wrote via Chat BCC on Thursday. “Here to say that I will not f*** with that man post-show and it will be hard to watch him moving forward.”

Season 28 alum Morgan Pope tweeted on Thursday that she had reached out to someone who is “in a position to help address the situation.”

“I know this can be very triggering for many of us, so please take a step back from the internet if it becomes overwhelming & don’t hesitate to protect your peace,” she wrote via X. “If you feel able, then I encourage you to continue using your voice & speaking up in whatever way feels right for you ✨.”

‘Big Brother’ Controversies Through the Years

Season 16 alum Frankie Grande, who has been critical of Kamu all season, also expressed his desire to see the athlete pulled from the game.

“You guys. Enough. How is this monster still in the house. WHAT THE F***?!” Frankie wrote via X.

This isn’t the first time Kamu has made headlines while inside the house. Earlier this month, he sparked controversy for his remarks about not wanting to dress in drag after fellow houseguest Drew Campbell rocked a pair of unicorn-themed pajamas. The remark was made while professional drag queen Jason De Puy — also known as Salina EsTitties — was in the house. During Kamu’s Head of Household reign this past week, he put Jason on the block as a replacement nominee. The RuPaul’s Drag Race alum was voted out on Thursday evening.

“These two were together for hours, and they were already dropping love bombs,” O’Connell, 52, exclusively tells Us ahead of the new episode of Big Brother: Unlocked on Friday, July 24. “This guy was dropping an L-bomb. I think 12 hours into their relationship.”

In addition to Rome and Lyric quickly developing strong feelings for each other, O’Connell was enthralled by the couple’s intimate conversations — and cuddles — that took place on the Have-Not bed, which is a circular wooden plank that rotates. (Each week multiple Big Brother houseguests become have-nots where they must endure tougher living arrangements including eating slop, taking cold showers and sleeping in a room that lacks traditional beds.)

“He said on a wooden rotating bed, ‘I want to make babies with you.’ … I mean, that is the power of the Big Brother house,” O’Connell quips. “That is why Big Brother is the best unscripted show on TV … other shows aren’t saying, ‘I want to make babies with you’ on a wooden rotating bed.”

Big Brother 28’s Rome Teases Post-Game Romance With Lyric After Her Vote

Rome was ultimately evicted by his fellow houseguests — which included his own girlfriend — on Thursday, July 23. While O’Connell can’t fathom how Rome and Lyric got so close in two weeks, the TV host confesses that he was “very bummed” to see Rome leave.

“I really thought Rome, who for your readers if they don’t know, was sort of this alpha guy who was sort of gathering a few troops,” he says of Rome’s gameplay. “He was a newbie. He wasn’t one of the icons from Survivor. I really felt he was the only one who could really go for the king and queen, being Dee [Valladares] and [Rick] Devens from Survivor. He just had a showman. I think that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.”

The actor adds that being part of the season’s first showmance also didn’t help lower Rome’s threat level.

While O’Connell is always tuned in to Big Brother every summer, this season is extra special as he was named a cohost to the series’ companion show, Unlocked. O’Connell joins former winners Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur to discuss season 28 and give the audience sneak peaks of what’s in store for the houseguests.

“She needs to show some allegiance, some loyalty to the other side,” he explains. “And for her to be able to vote out the guy that she’s in love with, that shows the other side like, ‘Hey, maybe she really is coming to play this game.’ So I totally respect it, personal and game aside.”

Rome and Lyric instantly connected when they entered the Big Brother house earlier this month. On the second day of the game, Rome and Lyric coupled up and became season 28’s first official showmance. In the course of two weeks, their feelings intensified as they exchanged “I love yous” and even discussed the possibility of marriage.

While Rome was skeptical of getting into a showmance before the game began, everything changed the moment he laid eyes on Lyric.

“I walked into that house thinking, like, there’s no way people fall in love. There’s no way people cry. There’s no way people get these strong connections at all. You’re here for three months maximum, right?” he recalls. “But in those two weeks that I got to spend with Lyric, I just realized how amazing she was as a person, how beautiful she was. Like, inside and out, she’s so selfless, and it’s all the qualities I’ve ever wanted in my significant other. So, for me, these feelings are extremely real.”

Now that Rome is out of the house and Lyric remains in the game, he is hopeful they can reconnect and figure out the “logistics” of their relationship once they reunite. (Lyric is from Hawaii while Rome resides in Florida.)

“I’ll tell you what: No matter what happens, I’m willing to make something work with her,” he says. “At least try it because she’s not the type of person you let go without fighting for.”

I’m disgusted. This better be the biggest thing ever when I wake up tomorrow or I’m flipping a table… f***. Ew. Gross.”

In the clip, which has circulated on social media, Kamu and Devens, 42, were reacting to alliance member Drew Campbell who was wearing a set of unicorn-themed pajamas. Devens, who is the current Head of Household, asked Kamu if “those dudes dressed in women’s clothes.” Kamu confirmed they were which replied he revealed he was asked to participate as well.

“I’m not doing that bro,” Kamu told Devens who laughed and shared he wouldn’t consider participating until Jason De Puy won an HoH competition. (Jason is a professional drag queen who is known outside the house as Salina EsTitties.)

Kamu doubled down on his stance stating that as a professional MMA fighter he can’t see himself doing drag.

“I said, ‘Bro, miss me with the drag stuff.’ Miss me. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold,” he told Devens who replied, “That’s tough.”

Kamu’s remarks were not directed at Jason, 35. While Jason told his fellow houseguests that he is a professional drag queen, he omitted the fact that he previously competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Frankie came to Jason’s defense online not only because they are members of the LGBTQIA+ community but because they are friends in real-life. While Frankie initially expressed outrage at both Kamu and Devens, he later walked back his criticism of the Survivor alum.

“Ok. I concede there is not enough info in the clip to understand [Devens’] motivations. Hopefully he was just taping [sic] into Kamu’s energy for game reasons,” he wrote in a subsequent tweet. “Regardless, men behaving in a repulsed or shocked way when a man dresses feminine or in women’s clothing is homophobic. Period.”

After Frankie’s tweets went viral, the social media guru took to X to explain he made a “mistake” with his initial criticism.

Jason is currently facing eviction from the Big Brother household as Devens put him up alongside Melody Morris and Lyric Medeiros. After Devens won the Power of Veto, he took Lyric off the block and named her showmance Rome Seymour as the replacement nominee. Jason, Rome and Melody will face off in the BB Block Buster competition on Thursday, July 23, where one person will earn safety ahead of the house’s live vote.

Big Brother 26 alum Angela Murray channeled former costar Makensy Manbeck when opting for a blue swim dress. (Makensy, who was the season 26 runner up, famously rocked a blue workout set that fans deemed was her lucky outfit as she won multiple competitions in it.)

Survivor alums Dee Valladares and Rick Devens enjoyed a change of pace while rocking their finest bathing suits in the home’s Los Angeles backyard compared to the lush Fijian jungle. The Survivor 45 winner, 29, stunned in a pink bikini. Current Head of Household Devens, 42, opted for turquoise board shorts. While many online fans wished for Devens to go shirtless, the father of two — unfortunately — completed his look with a red T-shirt.

Big Brother 26’s Angela Murray Officially Joins Season 28 Cast

Rome Seymour and Jason De Puy — a.k.a Salina EsTitties from RuPaul’s Drag Race — were front and center as they dipped their toes in the water. Rome, 28, donned green swim trucks sans shirt. The pickleball instructor struck a power pose with his arms crossed. Meanwhile, the drag queen, 35, laid back in blue shorts and an opened pink button up.

Chuk Anyanwu opted to go shirtless as well as he showed off his muscles while sitting on a lounge chair. Mallory Aurichio looked pretty in pink while lounging next to pal Melody Morris who wore a black bikini top paired with matching pants.

LaTrice “Lala” Verrett also stunned in a black bikini paired with a statement coverup. Taylor Brown kept it cool in an orange bikini and let her blonde curls flow.

Ashley Trail, the first to depart from the house on Thursday, July 16, made an appearance in the photoshoot. The bartender, who was unanimously evicted in a historic 14-0 vote, dazzled in an orange bikini.

“I saw him walk in, and I thought he was obviously super hot,” Rachel, 41, exclusively shared with Us when recalling the pair’s summer of 2010 meeting. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! This guy’s gonna be trouble.’ But I think we really bonded when we went on the block together.”

Brendon, however, walked away from their initial exchange with a different take.

“I thought Rachel was attractive, but I of course thought she was a ditz,” he confessed. “I really was anti-relationship. I’ll be honest with you. I had been burned not too long before being on Big Brother, so I was definitely not looking.”

In a Big Brother summer surprise, Rachel and Brendon, 46, quickly fell in love during season 12, quickly becoming one of the reality show’s most beloved and successful couples.

Married since 2012 and the proud parents of two kids, the pair — known affectionately by fans as Brenchel — have built a celebratory life away from Hollywood in Alabama.

Brendon works full-time as a fully-certified medical physicist. When she’s not filming projects — like a special stint on this season’s Big Brother — Rachel is volunteering at her children’s schools, reporting for carpool duty and coaching various sports teams.

“She keeps us way too busy doing a lot of activities and driving all over the place to take the kids to acting, to different camps, to sports,” Brendon revealed. “She’s a volleyball coach. She’s made me [serve as] a soccer coach. She was signed up to be a soccer coach, and then she went on Traitors and was like, ‘Oh yeah! Hey, can you take over soccer?’ I was like, ‘You went to one game, and you’re making me coach the entire season?’”

As they celebrate more than a decade of marriage in the public eye, Rachel and Brendon aren’t afraid to reveal their secrets to a happy marriage.

Both parties agree that listening, compromising and making time for one another are important skills that never go out of style.

“I think one thing I started to realize is you got to work together and a big part of that is at least setting aside your ego enough to say, ‘Hey, I may not be right in this situation,’” Brendon shared.

Rachel added, “I was also going to say make sure you have adult time because the kids are right now in the other room or I would say more. But making sure that you take time for each other because you need that. You need to reconnect on different levels. We’ve done couples counseling, and we totally believe in that too.”

Although Rachel and Brendon didn’t earn the top prize on their season of Big Brother — she went on to compete in season 13 and took home the finale cash — both continue to be big winners in the never-ending game of love.

When asked if they thought about renewing their vows on TV in the future, both parties were open to doing it. After all, they did get married in 2012 thanks to David Tutera and WE tv’s My Fair Wedding.

“We had both talked about it, and we were thinking about it for our 10-year, and then life happened,” Rachel shared. “We’re coming up on 15. We said maybe we’ll do it for that one because that’s a really big wedding anniversary.”

“Brendon is in the process of teaching me how to get a really good fire going,” Rachel shared with Us. “What else did you say you’re going to work on with me?”

Although Rachel is confident that she knows “how to do that,” her husband of more than 10 years remains doubtful.

“OK, let’s see,” he said with a laugh. “Hey, we’re in Alabama. We got plenty of stuff to practice with out here. Surviving mosquitoes for 10 minutes.”

During the season 28 premiere of Big Brother, host Julie Chen Moonves revealed Survivor alums Dee Valladares and Rick Devens would be competing this summer.

While Rachel made a surprise appearance on the July 9 episode, her visit was cut short when she was pushed by a velociraptor into a volcano and, ultimately, her fiery death.

Back home in Alabama, Rachel and her husband make quite the team as they raise their two kids. While Brendon may be considered the “fun” parent, Rachel said she is likely the “strict” and “mean” one.

“Brendon’s a really good dad,” she told Us. “I’m so lucky. I love watching him with the kids.”

Brendon added, “It’s really fun. We love being parents. It’s really cool because you get to relive all of your favorite things that you got to do growing up and do it with the kids.”

When asked about a return to reality TV, Brendon said he has his hands full working full-time as a medical physicist. If his wife got the call to compete in a show, however, he’d make it work.

“She’s made me be a soccer coach. She was signed up to be a soccer coach, and then she went on Traitors and was like, ‘Oh yeah, hey, can you take over the soccer?’” Brendon recalled. “I was like, ‘You went to one game, and you’re making me coach the entire season.’”

“There was a little mystery in the house, in the storage room, where we noticed that some protection for sensual use was taken, and that was a whole drama,” Ashley, 24, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, July 17. “We were like, ‘Who took it?’ And I was like, in my mind, ‘Wait, isn’t it quite literally obvious?”

Ashley was referring to the ongoing showmance between houseguests Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros. The two first began flirting on the second day in the house and their relationship quickly became physical, something many of their castmates noticed.

“They were my bunkmates — Lyric was right on top, and I was like, ‘do I hear a little bit of squeaking and kissing?’” Ashley recalled.

Ashley was evicted by a 14-0 vote during the Thursday, July 16 episode, making her the first one out on the show’s 28th season. Once out of the house, she told Us that “some of the house doesn’t even know” that Rome and Lyric are a showmance.

Thinking back to the condom discussion, which occurred just a few days into the season, Ashley said it wasn’t obvious to the others who had taken them. (It has not been confirmed who actually took the condoms and some fans have speculated it could have been another houseguest looking to create the illusion of another showmance.)

“A lot of people are like, ‘Who’s in a showmance?’” Ashley recounted. “And I was like, ‘Oh, like, I guess people are unaware, and I don’t want to be the one to spread the news.’”

But even those who know about Rome, 28, and Lyric, 25, don’t seem bothered by the duo’s bond.

“The house actually didn’t give an F at all that they were a showmance,” Ashley said. “Everybody thought that it was a little bit of a love reality show situation, which I was so surprised by, because whenever you’re in the Big Brother house, usually the showmance will really stick together the whole game… nobody was threatened at all whatsoever.”

Speaking about her own game, Ashley acknowledged that, even on the block, she was in a good position to stay, until some late campaigning backfired. Her eviction episode showed her rallying votes and trying to use her apparent safety to bring her opponents onto her side.

Ashley explained that her allies told her to try that tactic and that she assumed it meant they knew something she didn’t.

“I was advised to do that by my newfound allies,” she said. “They were like, ‘Ashley, you know what? Go out with a bang. You should go and like put a little bit division in people’s minds and let them think that there’s this side of the house, this side of the house, but you need to be on ours.’”

“I know people love Devens, and he was great at Survivor,” Julie, 56, shared with Entertainment Weekly in an interview published on Thursday, July 16. “This ain’t Survivor, honey. This here [is] Big Brother.”

For 28 seasons, the host of CBS’ long-running reality show has seen her fair share of contestants and strategies.

But before the current season kicked off earlier this month, Julie said she was hopeful Devens, 42, would wow her.

“I’m like: ‘OK, I was rooting for you in the beginning because you’re a former morning news anchor, as was I,’” she told the publication. “But then with his loose lips, he quickly lost me. I thought: ‘No, dude.’ And then when I saw Dee [Valladares] look at him like, ‘You did what?!’ I was like …”

In the first weeks of competition, Devens decided to tell fellow contestants Angela Murray and Drew Campbell about another alliance he was in with Dee, 29.

“Oh, it was terrible. I was like, ‘Go back to the island, dude! I’m gonna snuff out your flame,’” Julie said. “I’m surprised how little Rick Devens gets this game and how much Dee gets it and got it right away.”

Back in June, Us Weekly had the opportunity to catch up with Dee and Devens at the Newport Beach TV Festival. When asked what reality shows they would like to compete in after Survivor, both competitors kept fans guessing.

“You know what? I would test my luck on Traitors and maybe Big Brother,” Dee teased to Us. “On Big Brother, I’m eating, so nothing would be worse than Survivor in terms of harshness on your body. Any game is so much fun. I test my luck in any game, just because it’s so fun to play games.”

Devens didn’t even mention Big Brother in his answer when he said, “I’d love to do The Amazing Race with [Survivor costar] Christian Hubicki, or with my wife, Becca. That’d be a fun one.”

While it’s still very early on in the competition — the first eviction of the season is expected to happen Thursday night — Julie continues to have her eyes on the contestants who have some reality TV experience up their sleeves.

“You know, I was kind of against two former Survivors coming in,” she said, “and now I find myself pulling for Dee because she gets it.”
