Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean has become a hero in the City of Brotherly Love over the course of his two seasons in the NFL — and he’s got his inner circle to thank for making sure he keeps his head on his shoulders.
“I think it’s the people around you keeping you humble and keeping you down to earth,” DeJean, 23, exclusively told Us Weekly at T-Mobile’s Club Magenta at the 2026 PGA Championship on Saturday, May 16. “I feel like I’ve got a great group of people around me — friends, family, who keep me grounded — which is awesome. I feel like it costs nothing to be a great person.”
DeJean preached the value of “just being a good person whenever you’re out in public, seeing fans, saying hi.”
While DeJean has certainly made a name for himself on the field — his pick-six off Patrick Mahomes during Super Bowl LIX, perhaps most notably — his increased public persona has also coincided with interest in his personal life.
DeJean was rumored to be dating WWE star Nikki Bella last year, and attended the Kentucky Derby earlier this month with Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Abby Summers.
“It can get overwhelming at times,” DeJean said of the attention. “But I think it’s cool just to see the way people support us [in Philadelphia].”
DeJean has been given a bit of a road map by former Eagles star Jason Kelce, who retired the month before Philadelphia drafted DeJean.

“Just the way he interacts with people in the city,” DeJean said about what he’s learned from Kelce. “He’s a great guy. I’ve got to talk to him a few times. He’s still in the building quite a bit, working out and stuff. Just getting to talk to him, see him and hear his experience he had in his 12 years here is pretty cool to see.”
He added of Kelce, “He’s also a big golfer. I got to play golf with him, too.”
DeJean acknowledged he gets very competitive on the golf course and was able to triumph over the former Eagles center during their round together.
“I think I beat him that day, but he played really well,” DeJean recalled.
On the topic of golf, DeJean was on-site at T-Mobile’s exclusive Club Magenta at Aronimink Golf Club outside Philadelphia for the 2026 PGA Championship, which spotlighted T-Mobile’s new 5G-powered broadcast technologies, their work advancing the technology behind the PGA Championships app and the brand’s PGA Championship Range Show.
“With the technology T-Mobile is using with the golf game now, I feel like it’s helping get fans more involved in the game when you’re sitting at home watching it on TV,” DeJean explained. “Obviously it’s cool to see the atmosphere and watch it live, but I feel like it’s cool to see all the different technologies on TV.”
He added, “The game is growing, and growing fast.”
