Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott candidly addressed his split from ex-fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos, which came just weeks before the couple were scheduled to get married earlier this year.
“I’m great. I’m blessed,” Prescott, 33, told NBC 5’s Newy Scruggs in an interview posted on Thursday, August 6. “As I said, I’m a follower of Christ, and just having the faith that I do, it’s always been something, a superpower in a sense that I’ve had is my faith. So, it won’t change. I won’t even say it gets shaken just because things happen or things don’t necessarily go my way or the way that I thought they would. It doesn’t necessarily affect the way that I wake up each morning.”
He continued, “I’m grateful when my feet hit the ground. I’m grateful to breathe the air that I do and to be where I’m at. I’ve got too many blessings to look at my trials.”
The one-on-one interview happened at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, California, as Prescott gears up for his 11th season as Dallas’ starting quarterback.
“I’m just super thankful for the opportunity that I have to be where I am,” he added. “To have two amazing daughters, to be able to play the quarterback position for this organization and still inspire so many.”
Prescott and Ramos, 32, share daughters Margaret “MJ,” 2, and Aurora, 14 months.
“Adversity is going to come, it’s inevitable,” Prescott said. “If you know how to respond to it and you can respond to it consistently, you can get over it.”
Prescott and Ramos abruptly called off their wedding in March, breaking the news to their guests via email.
“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday April 10, 2026,” the email read, according to TMZ. “It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”
Days later, Page Six reported that Ramos discovered Prescott allegedly had been using incognito social media accounts to send “inappropriate” messages to multiple women and “ex-flings.”
Us has reached out to representatives for both Prescott and Ramos for comment.
The former couple reached a custody agreement for their daughters in April.
“This agreement is a positive step forward and reflects the commitment Dak has to raising their daughters in a healthy, supportive environment,” Prescott’s lawyer, Levi McCathern, said in a statement to Us.
The statement continued, “We’re pleased this was resolved amicably and outside of the courtroom. At the end of the day, the focus remains where it should be — on the well-being of Dak’s two daughters — and he is fully committed to ensuring that.”
Ramos’ attorney, Raymond Rafool, said his client was “very happy” with the agreement.
“She firmly believes that working together as parents is very important and will have long-term benefits for the girls,” Rafool told Page Six. “Sarah Jane continues to be dedicated to putting the girls’ best interests and lives first.”
