A fundraiser has been organized for three Texas brothers who lost their parents, Jeremy and Brenda Jenkins, in a car accident on Saturday, August 15.
Jeremy, 51, was the head football coach at East Bernard High School, while Brenda, 46, was a junior high teacher. They were both pronounced dead at the scene after their 2025 Tesla Model Y went off the side of State Highway 60 and overturned just after 10 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
“On Saturday, August 15, the lives of the Jenkins family changed forever,” the GoFundMe says. “Jeremy and Brandy Jenkins tragically lost their lives in a car accident, leaving behind their three sons — Tyson (20), Gage (18) and Jake (16). There are simply no words big enough for that kind of loss.”
Jeremy, who was also the athletic director at East Bernard, is remembered as somebody who “dedicated himself to teaching, mentoring and believing in young people.”
“Brandy shared that same love for family and community,” the fundraiser adds. “She was a devoted wife and mother, an educator, a friend, and one of the biggest supporters of Jeremy, their boys and the athletes he coached.”
The GoFundMe continues, “Jeremy and Brandy spent years showing up for other people’s children. Now it is our turn to show up for theirs. Tyson, Gage and Jake now face a future they never imagined. Along with grieving the loss of their parents, they must continue their education, pursue their goals and learn to navigate adulthood while supporting one another.”
At the time of publication, the GoFundMe had raised over $112,000, which will “be divided equally among the three boys.”
“These funds will help support their education, living expenses and future needs as they move forward without their parents,” the fundraiser explains. “No amount of money can replace Jeremy and Brandy. But together, we can help provide some security for the three young men they loved more than anything.”
The page continues, “Whether you knew the Jenkins family personally, coached alongside Jeremy, had a child whose life they touched, or simply heard their story and felt called to help – thank you. Every donation, every share and every prayer means more than words can express.”
The East Bernard Athletic Booster Club released a statement about Jeremy and Brenda’s deaths on Sunday, August 16, saying, “Right now, football doesn’t matter. Wins don’t matter. None of it does. What matters is surrounding these boys with the same kind of love and support their family has given to so many of ours.”
