Travis Kelce took the field for the first time in the regular season as a married man, and his wife, Taylor Swift, was there to cheer him on, sitting next to Tom Cruise in an Arrowhead Stadium suite.
ESPN cameras caught Swift, 36, chatting with the Top Gun actor late in the first quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos on Monday, September 14.
Swift and Kelce, 36, got married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in a ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler — and also attended by Cruise, 64. In the months since, few details have emerged about the star-studded event, which many of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates attended.
“My perspective, it was a lot of fun,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said on Monday night’s episode of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. “I did a little dancing, and I didn’t know if I was gonna be able to dance.”
Kelce also opened up about the wedding, telling ESPN’s Chris Berman it was “the best night of my life.”
“Marrying Taylor, it was more than I could have ever dreamed it to be because of all the people that showed up and the amount of love that was in the air,” he said.
While it was Kelce’s first game since getting married, the veteran tight end is entering what could be his final season in the NFL.
A future Hall of Famer, Kelce considered retirement each of the last two offseasons. The Chiefs’ disappointing 2025 campaign, which included an ACL injury to Mahomes, 30, right as the season was going off the rails, may have played a role in his decision to return for 2026.
“The way this ended with a sour taste in my mouth, I feel I need to make the right decision for me,” he said in an interview with Tony Gonzalez before the Chiefs’ final game last season.
Kelce added, “I feel like I have a lot of love for this game. If I came back it’d just be to answer that flame that I still love this thing. If it was just Sundays, I could play till I was 50. Obviously, there’s so much that goes into it. Arrowhead being Arrowhead, the atmosphere [and] playing in front of them, those will be memories that I cherish [when] I’m old and gray. … It’s special, man, and I love playing for them.”
The Chiefs will stay at home for their next game, scheduled for Sunday, September 20, against the Indianapolis Colts.
