Cardi B is Elle magazine’s September cover star! The 27-year-old rapper loves it so much that she says it’s her all-time favorite.
On the cover, the Bronx native quite literally drips in diamonds, wearing a wig made of crystals, a statement-making Mordekai by Ken Borochova bracelet cuff and a sparkly silver dress to match. Slay!
The “I Like It” singer gave her 72.4 million Instagram followers their first look at the new cover on August 11, 2020. “My first Elle magazine cover!” the star proudly wrote in the accompanying caption.
Not only is this her first cover for the outlet, but it’s extra special because it spotlights the star’s new body bling. “The fact that they love my labret piercing makes it my fav!” she added, going on to thank the editor-in-chief Nina Garcia and the magazine as a whole.
Dutiful Cardi B fans likely recall when she posted not one but four videos to her Instagram Story in June, documenting the seemingly super painful process of getting new piercings.
The technician pierced the rapper from the comfort of her home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. When all was said and done, she gave her fans a look at the finished result: two new chest piercings and a labret piercing right below her bottom lip.
All three of the new piercings made it onto the Elle magazine cover. Us Weekly’s favorite is her new dollar sign-shaped chest piercings, which is just so Cardi. The diamond-studs match perfectly with her eye-catching ensemble and they’re a wonderful contrast to her rose-toned face beat brought to life by Erika La’ Pearl.
The star’s new cover comes just a few days after the release of her new single, “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
