Faux real! On Monday, July 18, we were swept away by Mila Kunis’ wavy chin-length style for a private screening of Bad Moms in New York City. But it was only a temporary look. The man behind her strands, celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, assembled her long brunette locks into a braided faux bob for one night only. Want to fool your friends? Scroll down for Campora’s how-to, exclusive to Us Weekly.

On damp hair, apply Nexxus Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam Styler ($14, ulta.com). Blow-dry with a round brush. Using a curling iron — Campora, who has also worked with Margot Robbie and Jessica Chastain, recommends the Harry Josh Pro Tools 2-in-1 Ceramic Marcel Curling Iron 1.25 Inch ($185, dermstore.com) — work your way around your head, section by section. Once complete, divide the hair into two sections: from the hairline to your ears and from your ears to the nape of your neck. Pin the top section up, then braid the bottom section into two plaits.

Pin each so they lay against your head. “This will create a cushion for you to pin your faux bob onto,” Campora tells Us. Follow up by pinning the braids to your scalp so that the top half of your hair falls over them. Continue this process all throughout your hair until it feels secure. Release the top section of hair and tuck the strands under and secure with pins anchored in the braids. “Take bigger sections in order to control it better when you’re pinning it in place,” Campora says. Once you’re done, pull a few face-framing strands out and spray with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray ($33, oribe.com).

A few days before the carpet, Kunis, who wore an embroidered Ulla Johnson jumpsuit complemented with pink pumps, opened up on why she took the role — her first after giving birth to Wyatt, 21 months, with husband Ashton Kutcher.

“It’s a good mind-set to go into work and be happy every day instead of being in a dark place,” she told Glamour. “There are things you fantasize about doing and saying, and then ultimately don’t because it’s illegal. This movie has no such thing as illegal. My character had two kids really young, married her high school sweetheart, works hard, and is thirtysomething now; her husband’s a slacker who never really got out of his twenties. She catches him cheating and just goes, ‘F–k it.’”
