The luxe life!
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's New York City home is just as lavish as you would imagine. While a tour is usually reserved for friends and family of the couple, the R&B singer, 36, and his supermodel-wife, 29, granted Architectural Digest inside access into their love nest for the magazine's February 2015 issue.
The home, purchased prior to their nuptials, was renovated by Don Stewart of Desiderata Design in collaboration with Winka Dubbeldam of Archi-Tectonics.
Stationed cozily in between Manhattan's Nolita and Little Italy neighborhoods, the stars who married in September 2013, share a one-bedroom loft apartment, which touts a "dark and moody atmosphere."
"We tend to look for the opposite of what most people want," Legend said of the quaint residence, which boasts a view of a, er, brick walk from the kitchen window. "I absolutely love this. I'd rather have a wall than a view of the Empire State Building," his wife echoed.
A shot of the couple's kitchen appears to be dripping in gold, and a set of pendant lights hang high from the ceilings. The cooktop is by Bertazzoni and the stools are by Anna Karlin from Atelier Courbet, giving Teigen, an avid cook, tons of space. "I love making soup," she said. "I love roasting; really anything that takes hours to make."
The couple’s living area contains several dark leather armchairs, all vintage Arne Norell designs from Emmerson Troop, and bronze side tables in the room add a special touch.
In a separate room, Legend can practice his music on a shiny grand Yamaha piano. There is also a stylish wing chair, and a huge splash print painting by Lynne Mapp.
