#YouBeYou! That's the message of Karlie Kloss' new ad campaign for Diane von Furstenberg, announced on Monday, February 1.
Kloss, 23, rocks the vibrant wrap dresses and embroidered rompers that debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2015.
But it's her extracurricular activities that make her the perfect spokesperson for the mixed-print pieces. "She is a supermodel, she is an entrepreneur, she gives back, she is a student, she is close to her family. She’s passionate, constantly improving herself, fearless. She knows who she is and is never afraid to show it," von Furstenberg explained in a statement. "She is the woman she wants to be. Together we invite all women to find this spirit and confidence in themselves.”
In a campaign video, Kloss seems to hold back while modeling the line's mesmerizing frocks, much to the cheeky chagrin of von Furstenberg. "Girls are so much more modest than when I was young,” the designer is heard off-camera telling the NYU student. The Karlie's Kookies founder responds, "I'm just trying to keep it classy, Diane."
Kloss only had one rule to follow on how to model the patterned styles, which were also worn by Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid during NYFW. "In true DVF fashion, the only direction I got on set was to be myself!" Kloss said in a statement. "I love that it's about being who you are and empowering others to do the same."
The ad finishes on the same empowering note. "This is me being me," she declares to the camera. "Now, you be you!" Watch the complete clip in the video above!
