It's time to go to the ball!
Starting in the early hours of Monday, May 4, celebrities and fashionistas alike have been prepping for the style world's biggest night of the year: the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala! But before stars like Kendall Jenner, Jaime King, and Katie Holmes walked up the Met's red-carpeted staircase, they all had to do some last minute preparations, from fittings to snack breaks.

As seen on Calvin Klein's official Instagram page, the rising model, 19, and face of CK's #mycalvins Denim Series met with designer Francisco Costa for a last-minute fitting.

Meanwhile, Jenner's older half-sister was busy meeting with her own designer: Peter Dundas, who designed his first dress for Roberto Cavalli just for the reality star!
The second-time mom-to-be, 36, showcased her baby bump alongside a bumpin' mannequin. "Just hanging out with my mannequin!" King wrote via Instagram. "Can you believe they made a perfect form with my exact measurements with baby! #Met #Behindthescenes #whoknew?"
The Newsroom alum shared an Instagram snap from her final fitting, picturing one last snip on the hemline of her dress. (Judging by this photo, it looks like Munn chose J. Mendel for her creation.)
Joshua Jackson's longtime love started her prep with a little bit of pampering. "And so it begins… start with Nails! And @chanelofficial of course! #MET #ChineseRed," she captioned a mani shot.
No fabric here! Holmes—who is accompanying her longtime friend, designer Zac Posen, as his date—was much more concerned with what was on the lunch menu. (Fried mozzarella, natch.)
Sarah Jessica Parker
Before she attended "China: Through the Looking Glass," the Sex and the City sweetheart shared a snap of her hat box, which held a Philip Treacy chapeau inside. Hinting for fans to look closer, she captioned the Instagram photo, "It's not shoes."
As for the Hot Pursuit actress? She just seemed pleased that the sun was shining. "Good morning NYC," Witherspoon captioned a peek out her window, adding a Statue of Liberty emoji. "A beautiful day for #MetBall!"
